Several sources familiar with the ongoing investigation tell WTOP fire and police investigators believe the radiator in Turton's 2008 BMW X5 was punctured when it rolled into a workbench. The halogen headlights, which emit a bluish light and illuminate the road better than conventional headlights, stayed on after the radiator was punctured.

Oh, please. Is that the best they can do? It has a "swamp gas from a weather balloon" aspect to it, no?

And that makes two spouses of WH advisers to die under strange circumstances. Who punctured Jack Wheeler's radiator?

You don’t have to be all that old to have a stroke.

I agree but how does that explain the husband at the house not telling firemen his wife is in the car. If you watch the video on an earlier thread and read the early reports the fireman were SUPRIZED to find a body in the car. It was called in by someone other then the husband.

Ashley Turton, former Hill aide, dead in burning car

"The wife of a key White House aide was found dead early Monday in a sport-utility vehicle that was heavily damaged by fire in the garage of the couple's Capitol Hill home, sources familiar with the incident said. The cause of her death is uncertain.

Ashley W. Turton, 37, an energy company lobbyist and former chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.), was found dead shortly before 5 a.m. in a burning BMW, the back end of which was partly out of the garage, as if the vehicle had been entering or leaving when the fire started, authorities said."

From the scene. (Gerry Martineau/Post)

.............."Pete Piringer, a D.C. fire department spokesman, said neighbors near the couple's two-story brick house at 800 A Street SE called for help about 4:50 a.m. after they saw flames spewing from the garage, which faces Eighth Street SE at the rear of the house. He said firefighters found a burning vehicle facing into the garage with a dead body in it"...........

........."As of noon Monday, authorities had not publicly identified the victim.

But Pete Rouse, interim White House chief of staff, sent an email to the staff on Monday informing them of the tragedy."................

......"A source familiar with the incident, speaking on the condition of anonymity because it is still under investigation, said the SUV was "about seven-eighths of the way" into the garage and was stopped "at a weird angle." He said the vehicle was heavily damaged by fire, but said he could not discuss the condition of the body.

Most of the smoke and fire damage was contained to the garage, according to Piringer, who said an adult male and several children in the house were unharmed. He said no 911 call came from the house and it is possible that the man and children were unaware of what had happened until firefighters arrived"..........

The more information released, the more lies are told. This looks like murder. Check the husband, the car, the lobbying firm. Antifreeze is extremely unlikely to catch fire. Something caused the woman to be unable to leave the vehicle before the fire and I suggest it might be drugs, strangulation, bullets, blunt force trauma, knife wounds or some other cause. The fire seems to be something that was set to cover up the cause of death. I’ve watched enough crime shows on TV (all the CSI’s and others) to know there must be forensic evidence to indicate a better cause of the fire than headlights igniting antifreeze. Keep investigating and tell us what really happened when you have a better clue.

Actually, the new technology will make those Xenon lights obsolete. Directional LED will still provide the same annoying light, but will be better directed through dynamic lenses. Even better still is the HUD and infra-red night-vision systems where the camera picks up things difficult to see with any lighting (like giant antlered rats) and projects it on the windscreen.

In addition to giant antlered rats, night vision also unmasks police cars lurking in the shadows at night waiting to pounce.

Piringer said that it was only once the fire was out and heavy smoke dissipated that responders could see that there was a body inside the car. “............

Ok...this is the line that has bugged me PROFOUNDLY since this happened, was reported, and discussed here, last month.

Putting on my CSI cap...from the local of the garage to the back of the house, it is plausible that a neighbor (with a different vantage point) saw the flames first. That neighbor would have NO WAY (in theory) of knowing if the vehicle was occupied or not...but, once the Fire Department showed up...would ANYONE IN THAT ATTACHED HOUSE realize...is that Ashley’s car? Where is Ashley? And wouldn’t they IMMEDIATELY tell some first responder at the scene...my wife was supposed to be driving that car!!! So why the big, surprise, when the smoke literally cleared, that ‘there is a body inside the car.’

Was she supposed to leave by taxi (for the alleged flight? has the flight info been verified?). Was the WH aide husband supposed to take that car that day?

That is such an honest, stunned sounding statement by a Fire Department professional (who has probably seen many awful things) but was ‘surprised’ to find someone in the car.

Does antifreeze container say ‘danger - ‘flamable’ - Do not store near open flame?

Who punctured Jack Wheeler's radiator?

Nobody. That's why he had to bludgeon himself then throw his corpse into a dumpster.

What headlight burns at 240degrees

Rosie O' says, everybody knows head lights won't burn, no matter how hot the fire.

Sorry, I had to take my baby outside.
PTBOR vs. Dachshund puppy.
I have explained to him I have 3 sons, 2 grandchildren and 1 husband. I can wait as long as it takes. He is catching on. The quicker he poops, the quicker he will be back in the house wrapped in his flannel blanket. I am the b-in-chief. :)

The Westbrooks are a four name family, a tradition she passed on to her kids. (Nothing wrong with that, my youngest son almost had four names because I needed to fit one more person in. But not enough space on the form and I was too lazy to care-we just don't let that last person see the BC.)

“240 degrees”

The story is bunk. E-glycol (undiluted) won't ignite until it reaches about 370 degrees. I will find a link.

night vision also unmasks police cars lurking in the shadows at night waiting to pounce.

When properly translated means that we will never see this technology used in Government Motors cars.

Infra-red nightvision piped through digital analysis software and transmitted over the air using cell-phone technology would be an excellent "social-media" application. Sort of like the computerized version of CB radios, instead of trying to grok trucker CB lingo, your iPad shows a nifty 3D representation of the LEO's location generated by a community of other drivers passing along "hot-spots" in the median and off the shoulder with timestamps and GPS coordinates.

I think I am going to work on writing that spec and filing for that patent now.

I am not sure the majority of those in that situation would know a foundation is an option. I could be wrong because I am not a financial whiz. More like a financial dummy.
