House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Tuesday that he "should be" considered a member of the Tea Party movement.
Boehner, speaking on a Cincinnati radio affiliate, said he is a "big believer" in what the Tea Party stands for, and is in touch often with leaders of the grassroots, conservative movement.
"I should be," Boehner said on WLW radio when asked if he were a member of the Tea Party.
"I don't know if I actually pay dues, but I'm a big believer in the Tea Party," he added. "I talk to Tea Party activists all over my district and all over the country every day."
The top House Republican isn't a member of the official House Tea Party Caucus founded last year by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.). His office said at the time that, as a personal policy, the Ohio Republican doesn't join any other caucuses other than the GOP Conference.

You are certainly welcome to PROVE it, Johnny.
When you prove it, you will be.
OK quit whining and raise a little Hell.
Its not about CRYING, its about CONSERVATISM.
So far, NOTHING.
The only incumbent Republicans that are Tea Party Republicans are the ones just elected and those like Michelle Bachman, Palin and Jim DeMint who got on the bandwagon early and in earnest, back when the town halls were raging and nobody knew if “tea party” backing would bring political hay to Republicans. The rest of the GOP jackasses are not tea party Republicans. They are just grandstanding opportunists. They are welcome to follow the trend but we wish you would step aside for the real tea party Republicans who stand for freedom, not compromise and socialism light.
fine...now bring back duelling in the house.
If asked to speak, all that he needs to say is: “How can I help?”
This goes for other elected officials. Demonstrate that one is indeed a public SERVANT. If they get the “optics” right, maybe their egos will follow.
“Boehner has pledged an open amendment process that would allow additional amendments and deeper cuts, and on Tuesday he said he expected the GOP to surpass its commitment for $100 billion in cuts.”
This smart use of the system is why I think he’s a great Speaker for the Tea Party.
Double-Secret Probation !

If you don’t know if you are a Tea Party person you probley aren’T.
Maybe he is, and maybe he isn’t.. He has much to prove..
start by stopping the debt limit increase and cut spending so that we won’t have a default
Stop crying and start investigating and cutting.
There are no dues (unlike unions)......only action.
Bonehead.
Go ahead and show us. We want to see some actions. Don’t come crying to us if you can’t cut the mustard.
There’s no crying in the tea party.
“Well, it is really rather simple. He attends some Tea Party meetings/gatherings AND SITS IN THE AUDIENCE!”
Politicians who speak at Tea Party events are accused of trying to take over or take advantage so I’m not sure how they win on that one.
Performance over time will tell the tale on John.
