MANSFIELD (CBSDFW.COM) – Some Students at Mansfield ISD schools could soon be learning Arabic as a required language. The school district wants students at select schools to take Arabic language and culture classes as part of a federally funded grant. The Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) grant was awarded to Mansfield ISD last summer by the U.S. Department of Education. As part of the five-year $1.3 million grant, Arabic classes would be mandatory at Cross Timbers Intermediate School and Kenneth Davis Elementary School. The program would also be optional for students at T. A. Howard Middle School and Summit High School.

Regardless of the Court’s decision, the parents let their displeasure be known and the school dropped the whole thing from what I’ve read.
It’s like healthcare — the courts might decide that the individual mandate is constitutional, but if the people don’t want it, they will make sure that it doesn’t come about, even if a lot of political careers are ruined.
You have to know that our schools are in the hands of politicians.They are not managers not teachers, but guys with their fingers in the wind. And NOT the best and brightest of pols. Some bright lad/lass say a chance to get some additional federal funding. All that had to do was to pretend to teach Arab and language culture in compliance with federal demands and they would get a bunch of money that would be in addition to other federal and state funds. Does it make sense to teach Arabaic to kids when hardly any documents of worth are written in that language? Do, but let’s pretend in return for federal funding is a game that has been going on since 1965, when LBJ’s Elementary and Secondary Education Act passed. Ironically, federal funding from the National Science Foundation dried up as Federal programs began to multiply.
Spanish is still the language to learn here in Texas. But Arabic? For what reasons for heavens sakes. This is absurd.
The mexicans are taught English here. They always have been. One of my daughter’s biggest regrets is ignoring my insistence that she take two years of Spanish in high school.It would have served her well. But Arabic? You have to be kidding me.
Also, the Vietnamese, etc. Any foreign speaking children are taught English here, of course.

The Arabic classes are now optional (until they can make them mandatory
again under cover of night!).
Actually, I’m in favor of an increased pool of native-born Americans
becoming fluent in Arabic. Our Dept. of Defense has had trouble getting
Arabic-speakers/readers to pile through reams of captured documents and
radio/telephone intercepts.
AND one lady quit the Arabic-language section claiming that many of the
co-workers were Islamist-friendly.
It’s good to know what these Islamic wingnuts are saying in Arabic...
and compare that to their sweet words of peace in English.
We’re lucky to learn English first these days.

One: The Memorandum is derived from:
1 - The general strategic goal of the Group in America which was approved by the Shura Council
and the Organizational Conference for the year [I9871 is “Enablement of Islam in North
America, meaning: establishing an effective and a stable Islamic Movement led by the Muslim
Brotherhood which adopts Muslims’ causes domestically and globally, and which works to
expand the observant Muslim base, aims at unifying and directing Muslims’ efforts, presents
Islam as a civilization alternative, and supports the global Islamic State wherever it is”.
2- The priority that is approved by the Shura Council for the work of the Group in its current and
former session which is “Settlement”.
3- The positive development with the brothers in the Islamic Circle in an attempt to reach a unity
of merger.
4- The constant need for thinking and future planning, an attempt to read it and working to
“shape” the present to comply and suit the needs and challenges of the future.
5- The paper of his eminence, the General Masul, may God keep him, which he recently sent to
the members of the Council.
Two: An Introduction to the Ex~lanatorvM emorandum:
- In order to begin with the explanation, we must “summon” the following question and place it
in front of our eyes as its relationship is important and necessary with the strategic goal and the
explanation project we are embarking on. The question we are facing is: “How do you like to see
the Islam Movement in North America in ten years?”, or “taking along” the following sentence
when planning and working, “Islamic Work in North America in the year (2000): A Strategic
Vision”.
Also, we must summon and take along “elements” of the general strategic goal of the Group in
North America and I will intentionally repeat them in numbers. They are:
[l- Establishing an effective and stable Islamic Movement led by the Muslim Brotherhood.
2- Adopting Muslims’ causes domestically and globally.
3- Expanding the observant Muslim base.
4- Unifying and directing Muslims’ efforts
5- Presenting Islam as a civilization alternative
6- Supporting the establishment of the global Islamic State wherever it is].
- It must be stressed that it has become clear and emphatically known that all is in agreement that
we must “settle” or “enable” Islam and its Movement in this part of the world. - Therefore, a joint understanding of the meaning of settlement or enablement must be adopted,
through which and on whose basis we explain the general strategic goal with its six elements for
the Group in North America.

This goes on for 15 pages with highly detailed plans for establishing mosques, schools, organizations such as “CAIR”, etc, moving into arts, culture, science, education and finally sharia law. They seem to be making progress with their goals.
I hope someone might share this link with the good people of Mansfield, and the rest of this country so people will wake up. As many have said on this thread, this is not about language, it is about indoctrination into the culture with the goal of domination and conquest, first by gradual indoctrination but ultimately the final cleanup by jihad.

Look, if we are going to be conquering the Islamic world and converting them to Christianity, who better to do the job than a bunch of Texans, who can stand the heat. These kids will be the masters of the Muslims who submit to us.
To what extent this program is good or bad depends on how it’s implemented, but from a conservative point of view, the idea is not necessarily a bad one. It pays for Americans to be able to understand the language of the enemy, the better to know what they’re up to. Such was the logic of supporting the teaching of “defense languages,” Russian in particular. And these days, many of our most dangerous enemies speak Arabic, Farsi, and other languages common in Islamic world.

I am equally suspicious.
At the same time I suspect that average American students would smell
BS in these classes...and do their own work on the Internet to dig out
the real truth about what I call “real Islam”.
Maybe even get their own “Rosetta Stone” on Arabic if their parents could
afford it.
And just go along, to get along to get to get their “A”.
Heck, that would be just about what happened in The Book of Daniel.
At the same time, it appears that program is just about to be neutered
or even canceled given the reasonably ANGRY response by parents in this
Texas school district.
I listen (when the troposhere permits) to Midnight Trucking Radio out
of Dallas (WBAP, 820AM). Tonight one of the hosts is doing an understandable
b-tch-fest because one of his children is in the Mansfield school district.
He said that, but for an alert from a neighboring parent, he’d not
heard about this “stealth” attempt at inserting this Arabic (really Islamic)
course into the cirriculum.
