Palin defends GOProud participation at CPAC (misleading headline)
Hot Air ^ | 2/7/11 | Morrisey

No great surprise here, really; Palin has quietly backed the end of DADT and expressed support for conservative gays and lesbians in the past. Speaking here with David Brody from the Christian Broadcast Network and excerpted by Breitbart TV, Palin doesn’t endorse GOProud but does defend their attendance at CPAC, and argues that the value of events such as CPAC is to debate the issues and provide as much information as possible to attendees:

She retweeted Tammy Bruce’s take on those opposing the DADT repeal. It’s a fact, and is still on her twitter site.

Not seeing a problem here. Palin is endorsing FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND ASSEMBLY. She doesn't attend CPAC, but if CPAC and other individuals don't have a problem with it, she doesn't have a problem with it. Do you expect her to start quoting scriptures at gay people and bashing them over the head with purple flagpoles? < puzzled >

OooooOOOooooOOOooo, someone grab a rope. She's gone WAYYYYY over the line with this one!!!
/sarc

Last I looked, Sarah Palin is NOT a religious leader in this country, but a leader with religous values...I personally don't agree with this particular position, but by no means does is negate ALL of Palin's positive aspects, IMO.

Frankly, if her amnesty plan isn’t going to dissuade you, not much will

Can you imagine if Romney said that?

Considering Romney has been on all sides of all issues, yes I can.

BTW, wasn't it special to see Romney making a fool of himself in his appearance on David Letterman?

Note the contrast in tone amongst the palinistas to this thread:

Bachmann Will Be the First Potential 2012 GOP Candidate to Speak at CPAC

she is not endorsing the repeal of don’t ask is she?

She retweeted Tammy Bruce's support of the repeal.  That to me seems like an endorsement to me. You'll have to ask her to clarify her position.

Two things I make it a point of not watching. David Letterman and Mitt Romney.

In Palins own words what did she say about GOPROUD or even infer about it? It’s a stretch to make something out of this as a position

It all rather comical. The poster of this thread has stated he wouldn’t vote for a female but in the same instance supports Bachmann for president.

Now if that isn’t trying to put a round peg in a square hole I don’t what is.

I totally agree with Palin on this one. Nobody should stifle or forbid free speech ... ‘cept may the dreaded Monitors on tis forum :)

A conservative gay is very welcome as far as I’m concerned.

After all, they are not 3/5 of a person.

Palin is as much a RINO as the others. The only difference is, she has a unique ability to get liberals bent out of shape. That’s why she gets a pass.

No, “Palin in her own words” was added to this thread.

What was posted in the excerpt was a writers paraphrase of what she said.

Can you tell the difference?

The paraphrase....

“Palin has quietly backed the end of DADT and expressed support for conservative gays and lesbians in the past. Speaking here with David Brody from the Christian Broadcast Network and excerpted by Breitbart TV, Palin doesn’t endorse GOProud but does defend their attendance at CPAC, and argues that the value of events such as CPAC is to debate the issues and provide as much information as possible to attendees:”

Palin in her own words......

“Well, I’ve never attended a CPAC conference ever so I was a little taken aback this go around when I couldn’t make it to this one either and then there was a speculation well I either agree or disagree with some of the groups or issues that CPAC is discussing. It really is a matter of time for me. But when it comes to and David, perhaps what it is that you’re suggesting in the question is should the GOP, should conservatives not reach out to others, not participate in events or forums that perhaps are rising within those forums are issues that maybe we don’t personally agree with? And I say no, it’s like you being on a panel shoot, with a bunch of the liberal folks whom you have been on and you provide good information and balance, and you allow for healthy debate, which is needed in order for people to gather information and make up their own minds about issues. I look at participation in an event like CPAC or any other event, along, or kind of in that same vein as the more information that people have the better.”

His support for Bachman is a fraud and I have to fight the instinct to like her less because of it.

What do they call it? A stalking horse tied out there to prove he’s not anti-female.

Poll results so far:

We should welcome any groups that broadly agree on conservative policy goals 77.2% (569 votes)

Weak attempt to create a wedge issue against Sarah, Pissant.

FAIL.
