CNN's Anderson Cooper and his camera crew were attacked and repeatedly punched by pro-government forces near Tahrir Square in Cairo today.
"My team were set upon by the crowd," Cooper said on CNN this morning via telephone from the safety of a hotel balcony. "There was no rhyme or reason to itit was just people looking for a fight, looking to make a point, and punching us." According to a Twitter post from George Hale, the English editor of the Ma'an news agency, who cited a CNN "manager," Cooper was punched "10 times in the head."

Any chance we can look forward to Chris Matthews and Keith Olberdork doing a live show from Egypt?
Well, of course he did! Let me see....a newscaster with a camera crew gets attacked while providing a live feed to the whole world and we have no video of the attack yet?
I think the scenario might have been that filming a live feed from a hotel balcony above a riot just might have drawn some fire to everyone in the hotel. Some might have tried to instill some common sense into Cooper and his idiots to save everyone’s skin.
Thanks very much! You made my day.:=0)
I don’t believe it....Sounds like a huge exageration..Kind of like when Geraldo was being “shot at”
Love it!
Much to Katie’s chagrin, no double humps for her.
Ten EFFECTIVE punches to the head would have put Cooper at best in emergency care, at worst in ICU or the morgue.
The only way to trust information is to find it out firsthand yourself....so I guess I should go to Egypt, investigate and interview all the so-called bought infilitrators hired to just throw off the protest.... then check out their information with other sources.....then it "MIGHT" be true.
What are your sources you believe?
Does the Left in America really believe that upon banishing Conservatives they will reap an orgiastic nirvana?
No Anderson, without Conservatives, your world will descend to the oppression you experienced in Cairo.
It could have been worse:

Instant classic. Much worse than I anticipated but in an amusing way. Thanks!
No you don’t have to go to Egypt. Evene firs-hand accounts can be giving purely anecdotal evidence. In the case of Egypt, it’s very difficult because the events are happening so fast. We are 1000s of miles away, dependent on a lot of different reporting systems to get info, and those in a foreign language. Most importantly, the people in Egypt are aware that public opinion matters, and are telling the story that they want you to sympathize with.
Finally, reporting sources in America have their own agenda, both political but also economic.
I’m a skeptic, so I usually check out a story I think is either interesting or “too good.” At least a cursory fact-checking - trying to determine if there are other sources, who’s reporting it, if there is any other supporting evidence, or if there are facts that place the story in context. It’s just an old habit from the days when I was working on a PhD in history and had to back up every statement with the best evidence at hand.
But then I am just a bit doubtful naturally.
I seriously doubt he would enjoy being in an Egyptian prison. The majority of prisoners are Muslims, who would do more to him than punch his sorry a**.
Possible brain damage? Not likely in Cooper’s case. How could it be any more damaged?
Cooper is angling for a Pulitzer.
He probably paid 29 pounds ($5) for some poor Egyptians to pretend to beat him up. That’s more than they make in a month. They played along.
If you give $5 to an Egyptian cab driver they will wait outside your hotel and be your personal limo for 2 weeks.
He’s a poser.
We must clone this man.
I wonder if some protester decided to turn entrepreneur and sold tickets to those who wanted to get a punch in [ala the Dunking Booth at the County Fair] ...
Reportedly he told the attackers, “Not in the face....Not in the face...”
Why? They have goats, after all...
