URGENT: Gunfire heard in Cairo's Tahrir Square as supporters of President Mubarak and anti-government demonstrators clash hours after the embattled leader defiantly said he would serve out his term in office.

Sounds like western teenagers equivalent term for "Inshallah" is "Whatever".
Can you just imagine Anderson Cooper counting 10 punches?
Ow! One!
Ouch! Two!
Yikes! Three...
Stop! Four...
Who counts when they’re getting beaten?
Three other elements are missing as well.
**America, being so isolated from England had several generations of experience in self-rule on the local level.
**Protestant Christian morals and ethics. Protestant churches, again being isolated from England, had a long tradition of self-management.
**Americans in 1776 were heavily armed and those on the frontier were very experienced in Indian guerrilla tactics.
1642: CNN’s Ivan Watson in Cairo tweets: “Nightfall. Bloody battle continues to rage here in Tahrir Square. We are trapped inside with the opposition, who say they’ll fight to death.”
And if they were, paid by whom.
Anderson Cooper says a pro Mubarak crowd punched hin in the head ten times. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/anderson-cooper-attacked-mob-egypt-95628
Since then CNN has lost all objectivity if they ever had any.
I saw him after the attack and the photo at the link, no sign of injury. He obviously is making himself part of the story. He may have been played by the Muslim Brotherhood, then again I don’t think pro Mubarak forces would have any reason to like him.
Military wearing civilian clothes, paid by Mubarak himself. It’s easy.....
In #152, you said: “Inshallah. If God is willing is their mantra,”
So, in #160, I replied: Right! I shouldve said inshallah (if God is willing) theyll know in the future if theyve messed up & inshallah (if God it willing) theyll accept it.”
I knew what Inshallah meant. Many moslems Iranians, especially religious ones, say “inshallah” too.
Very insightful analysis.
Egyptian Union of Liberal Youth (EULY)
Wow. If they're the real deal, there may be some hope yet.
Fouad Ajami, on TV last night with Anderson Cooper, said that there was something like 1.7 million employees of the Egyptian intelligence services, and that Mubarak was the meal ticket for just about all of them.
One! Hit him again!
Two! Let me get this on video!
Three! Oooo! This will make 6pm highlights Anderson!
Four! This is great for your ratings, Coop!
Five! Hit him once for me, Achmed!
Trust but verify :)
the media have this story so twisted that they must be dizzy.
Wonder when they had their meeting to say how they would cover this, you know the large group of so called journalists who are hell bent on lies and bias.
.They’re covering for their messiah obama, they’;re ignoring the muslim brotherhood, they’;re denouncing the pro Govt people who do not want to see their country go the way of Iran and we have a tool in the white house who has no clue but to piss on all our allies while appeasing muslims.
Now what did obama say in his book, note his words and then look at how he handles this crisis compared to Iran.
Iran he says will not get involved where as he says Egypt, our ally who has kept peace for decades has to go now.
He then had Google set up twitter when Egypt had closed it down.
He says he admires the anti Govt protesters but never said that about Iran or the tea party.
His own words page 261 in his book.
“I stand with Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”
Methinks Obama has “jumped the shark” on this one.
God help us.

White House chief of staff William Daley told reporters that Washington had no warning of today’s events, which came as a surprise after President Barack Obama’s “cordial” phone call with Mubarak yesterday, NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell reports.

that truth, stated by you, accuracy being in such short supply thing, I guess that is why you, SE Mom, and so many others are trying to inform us all. Everyone is doing an excellent job, informing who, what, when, and where. Thanking Everyone.
“before he single handedly causes WW3” I have thought the same thing.
Did the assailant shout “What’s the frequency, Ahmed?”
Are you Iranian/Persian?
I read an interesting article on how nothing gets done or maintained in Saudi Arabia because of “Inshallah”. They installed infrastructure and gave them a maintenance plan. In twenty years, when the entire infrastructure went to hell, they wondered why the Arabs did not follow the maintenance plan. They were told that when something breaks down it is “Inshallah”, as God wills it. Following a maintenance schedule didn't make sense to them if something either worked or didn't work because of God's will on the subject!
