URGENT: Gunfire heard in Cairo's Tahrir Square as supporters of President Mubarak and anti-government demonstrators clash hours after the embattled leader defiantly said he would serve out his term in office.

I humbly encourage everyone to go view this thread, if not having been. View, all the threads, that give insight to President Ronald Reagan. View a history where God sends a person, like President Ronald Reagan, just in the nick of time. God sent this man to America. Praying for God to send another, just like President Reagan, even if that one sent wears a dress.... http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/2669337/posts?q=1&;page=1

Hey, check it out! Yay.

. @ElBaradei is making excellent points on ON TV in support of the revolution. Down with the system. #jan25
thank you for the update.

The contribution Baradei made 4 the revolution is that he raised awareness about democracy n constitutional change. We did the rest! #jan25

This is how it starts. I pray to God that this is not a sentiment spreading through the people. This could easily lead to support for ElBaradei getting into a leading role in the government.
I had to do a bit of research, so please forgive me. Some signs appear promising is what I found. Do you have agreement?
Now, this is encouraging — NOT!!!

ElBaradei: The Israelis Have A Peace Treaty With Mubarak, Not With The Egyptian People

Mohamed ElBaradei, one of the key leaders of Egypt’s protest movement, has brought his country’s peace treaty with Israel into doubt in an interview with Der Spiegel. From the Der Spiegel Interview:
SPIEGEL: Are you now saying that a government that included participation by the Muslim Brotherhood would continue on with Mubarak’s policies toward Israel?
ElBaradei: No. Something the Israelis also need to grasp is that it’s impossible to make peace with a single man. At the moment, they have a peace treaty with Mubarak, but not one with the Egyptian people. The Israelis should understand that it is in their long-term interest to have a democratic Egypt as a neighbor, and that it is prudent to acknowledge the legitimate interests of the Palestinians and to grant them their own state.
Understood Ike. My prayers are now dashed on the rocks. That is okay though. I appreciate you weighing in. Gives me better perspective.
No, a LOT of signs look promising. These are coming from one person right now. It’ll be interesting to see how and if it spreads. And there is still a lot of opposition to the Muslim Brotherhood, so there’s no telling what will come of this.
Hey Elbi, the peace treaty dates to Mubarek’s predecessor, thats why your buddies killed him.
Uncle Ike the mods appear to have pulled your post.....
The Mods pulled the original thread because the OP forgot to include a link to the article - the OP caught his mistake and asked the Mod to correct and insert the link but the Mod chose to yank the thread anyway....
Just a case of one of the Mods being a little quick on the trigger.....
It’s back up now, presumably meeting all FR standards, this time... ;)

Good deal. Thanks for the heads up Uncle Ike.
