URGENT: Gunfire heard in Cairo's Tahrir Square as supporters of President Mubarak and anti-government demonstrators clash hours after the embattled leader defiantly said he would serve out his term in office.

Oh Ike- you must read Vince Flynn’s books. He’s a terrific writer and he “knows people” making his books about terrorism absolutely riveting. He’s got genuine insight.

Wow, from your article: Think this may answer the question:
“It is easy to see why the Obama team refused to allow the US Senate access to the negotiating documents...”
“The matter is serious enough to merit Congressional hearings in Washington as well as parliamentary hearings in London. It is easy to see why the Obama team refused to allow the US Senate access to the negotiating documents for New START, as they would have sparked outrage on both sides of the Atlantic that would almost certainly have killed the Treaty. The Telegraph report clearly contradicts repeated claims by the Obama negotiating team that no side deals were struck with their Russian counterparts. Not for the first time, the current US administration has been eager to appease Americas enemies while shamelessly undercutting her allies.”
now ABC says...
U.S., U.K. Governments Dispute Report that U.S. Sold Out U.K. During START Negotiations
Both the U.S. and British governments disputed on Saturday a London Telegraph report asserting that the “U.S. secretly agreed to give the Russians sensitive information on Britains nuclear deterrent to persuade them to sign a key treaty.”
State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley called the report “nonsense,” saying the information sharing about U.S. transfers of nuclear weapons to the U.K. dates back to the original START treaty, an assertion backed up by the White House and British government officials.
The report, based on a Wikileaked cable from February 2010 during negotiations over the U.S.-Russian New START nuclear disarmament treaty, discussed an agreed statement on the transfer of Tridents II SLBMs to the United Kingdom.
I know, it’s appalling and truly frightening. But we must DEMAND to know if our Congress KNEW about this when they agreed to the treaty.
Meanwhile- this article in the NYT’s will make your blood pressure soar:
~snip~
Obama administration officials have been on the telephone almost daily with their Israeli counterparts urging them to please chill out, in the words of one senior administration official, as President Obama has raced to respond to the rapidly unfolding events.

CHILL OUT?!?!? One of our very closest friends in the world is in the middle of an existential crisis and we tell them to CHILL OUT???
God forgive me, I HATE these people.
IIRC many of the Repbulican Senators who were against the START treaty were against it because they were not allowed to see all the background documents that led up to it. Perhaps giving away military secrets was in that hidden information.
You know, the Dem way of passing a bill so you can find out what's in the bill. /s
I remember when the Republicans lost the house, but had the Senate and White House in 2006, they just started their vacations right after the elections. Dems stayed and passed all kinds of horrible stuff.
I read about that and sent him an email awhile ago. Since my son’s battle with cancer after Iraq I am always interested in how people deal with it- Flynn seems to handle it like Tony Snow...guts n grins.
Israel is probably raking him over the coals.
O can’t handle the job, he’s not loved anymore, the tantrums are starting - ‘everyone is acting stupidly!’
see post 1462 from coldone’s article. It says that O did it on his own.
Egyptians have turned on each other, but so have Americans turned on each other. It has happened since the 1960s and 70s (Vietnam). We have turned on each other, except for one day 9-12-01. I blame most of it on the media.
We’re not interested in a country with a common culture and helping neighbors and the USA succeed and to advance internationally with a common goal. The media continually works to divide us. They are leading the charge for Americans to cut each other down, so that they profit from elections and divisive politics while they spoon feed us propaganda.
It is no wonder the once great USA of 50 years ago is no longer. The consolidated controlled media is a big part of our indoctrination into a culture of anti-Americanism, anti nationalism, and a cut-throat attitude against each other.
The best thing Americans could do is to turn off the radio and TV propaganda and decide for yourself.
I remember that America. I grew up in it and lived in freedom and contentment with my friends and family no matter their political beliefs or ideas. We might debate and argue- but our connections to each other were more important.
Did you see this ... http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2669241/posts#24
Bring some of that tagline with you.
Another (Salute) to you and your Son.
Both senators in my state voted for this, and one had an (R) by his name. Tried to tell them....throwing gasoline to the fire. Can't say anything to change people's minds sometimes.
LOL Yes, I did...in fact I believe I posted it in the room just a bit ago......
(see post 1456 ;-)
Now can say Good Evening.
noticed, good for you... didn’t know if you went to #24 ... glad you did.
