Egypt, s, was not and is not "ours" to lose. Your comment is an example of the worst sort of American chauvinism.

And your comment displays a lack of knowledge of history. The USA spent hundreds of billions in tax payer money to keep Egypt as an ally, trained, educated, fed, and care for it's citizens for several decades.

Now, it seems it has been lost to the backward Islamist movement.

Watch for Egyptian antiquities to be destroyed because they are offensive to Mohammed, women rights to be stripped, and the life expectancy to drop.

and don’t know how to handle this.

America will be okay. Israel will be okay. God is showing his might and words in his book. Please, do not worry.

"Otherwise, there would have been US ships, Aircraft Carriers and troops already on the ground to keep order and prevent a war from breaking out."

Now there's a brilliant idea, overt American military intervention in an Egyptian revolution! Maybe we could create another Somalia and a few million more Mohammedans could flood into America as "refugees". /s

Yes, I heard.

The MB is poised to become the “transitional” team after Mubarak is gone. (Iran/Alkaida theocracy here we come.)

Its being covered “live” now by FoxNews. I wonder how many of the pro-Mubarak forces are the police who are now dressed up as civillians.

Well, I was more referring to the issue with some personal relations in that context. I am mentally and emotionally ready for the GLOBAL implications. At least, as mentally and emotionally ready as one can be. God’s got it covered.

It’s how to handle personal issues that baffles me.

Pretty stupid, eh?!

"Now, it seems it has been lost to the backward Islamist movement."

Says who? Not the Egyptians I know, though they are all Copts and Orthodox. Maybe they are ignorant of Egyptian history too, not being Americans and all.

It’s a stretch to blame Barry too much for this. It’s hubris to think that everything that goes on in the world is the fault of the USA. We had little choice but to support Murabak. But Egypt is its own country and this revolt has been brewing ever since Sadat signed the peace treaty. The idea that code Pink or Bill Ayers or any other bunch of ridiculous academic losers is behind this is nuts.

"Ditch the lib" would be nice, but it certainly isn't the right thing to do in all cases, such as family, or friends you have known since grade school, or (as in my case) your boss.

I have, however, made a few stands with people. Particularly back in 2008... I had a longtime friend accuse me of being a racist because I didn't support Obama. I gave him the long lecture, then realized it was pointless and told him that if he honestly believed I was a racist, then we could no longer be friends. When that happened, he suddenly realized, "Wow, she's taking this seriously..." See, a lot of them are treating this as almost a sports team fanaticism. When you do give them the big heave ho, they suddenly realize, "Whoa... all this over politics?" Yes. It is that important. When you stand your ground and have good reason, it often makes them rethink things. If they don't, then... there's your answer. I realized a while back that politics are important because they represent your value system. And that's something you should never compromise for the sake of a "friendship" that probably isn't even worth it.

Some mindsets you’ll never change, Obots is one of them, islamists are another, you’ll never get them to see your point of view no matter how plain and easily you explain it.

The "pro-Mubarak" crew will try to intimidate the "Anti's" to reduce their number. When MUbarak's people have scared some of the weak-kneed protestors away, they won't be as outnumbered as they are today...then they will really start to crack heads.

Yes, but does Katie Couric find any good sitcom material in any of this?
