Update : battles have started.

There is a tense stand-off in the Egyptian capital's main square, after fights broke out between supporters and opponents of beleaguered President Hosni Mubarak.

Thousands of the president's supporters had surged into Cairo's Tahrir Square, dismantling barricades set up by anti-Mubarak groups.

5) The Pew 2010 report found that 82 percent of Egyptians hold an unfavorable view of the United States.

2) The Muslim Brotherhood is also a strong ally of Iran.

He said that "the increasing infiltration of Shiism in Egypt may lead to a civil war like the one in Iraq."

The Brothers welcome allies of convenience. Like Ayers, the commie left and academia, the EU, etc. Like Obama the gifted dreamer man-child. They love Obama in the back, but hate him as a proxy for America in the front.

Mubarak and the Generals are more practical men. They don’t care, they will do what it takes as practical men to hold or win for themselves.

The Brotherhood has similar weaknesses and strengths as the western elites in the EU, in the American and British colleges. Obama visits US military bases and makes speeches praising our military — but it’s clear he and his hate the US military.

Mubarak is letting his "supporters" do the talking for him right now. In a day or two, the army, which is what really counts in Gippo-land, will put some teeth on the streets and restore order. Frankly, I am glad there is such a thing as a "pro-Mubarak" demonstrator.

Now if the Mombasa Moonbeam can be convinced to keep his big mouth shut, the situation might just be restorable to some livable state and get the Gippos ready for their next government. Feeding, housing, educating, caring for, and humoring these vast unemployable hordes is a tough job, no matter who's in charge. Think Watts and Harlem X 10 Million.
