Israel shocked by Obama's "betrayal" of Mubarak

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - If Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak is toppled, Israel will lose one of its very few friends in a hostile neighborhood and President Barack Obama will bear a large share of the blame, Israeli pundits said on Monday.
Political commentators expressed shock at how the United States as well as its major European allies appeared to be ready to dump a staunch strategic ally of three decades, simply to conform to the current ideology of political correctness.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has told ministers of the Jewish state to make no comment on the political cliffhanger in Cairo, to avoid inflaming an already explosive situation. But Israel's President Shimon Peres is not a minister.
"We always have had and still have great respect for President Mubarak," he said on Monday. He then switched to the past tense. "I don't say everything that he did was right, but he did one thing which all of us are thankful to him for: he kept the peace in the Middle East."
Newspaper columnists were far more blunt.
One comment by Aviad Pohoryles in the daily Maariv was entitled "A Bullet in the Back from Uncle Sam." It accused Obama and his Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of pursuing a naive, smug, and insular diplomacy heedless of the risks.

If Mubarak were 42 they may have a point. However, he is 82 and there is only so much longer we can ride an old horse.
However, the US should have long ago found a new horse to ride in Egypt instead of ignoring the face that Mubarak was aging.
I tend to believe that der Fuehrer has an indirect involvement in what is happening. If the Israelis knew what they were getting then why is there any shock? Their hard choices are going to involve action, action taken with extreme prejudice and they can count on the administration opposing them at every turn, even to the point of our intelligence on Israeli actions being turned over to the terrorists.

People People! This is faux anger. The Israelis knew full well what is going down. I have a sneaking suspicion that this Egyptian “overthrow” is really geared at Iran. It is to get the Iran masses all primed for an overthrow there.

Lemme get this straight: a democracy is calling for the US to support a dictator instead of supporting the democratic wishes of 80 million, which admittedly may bring about something worse? All because he’s “our bastard”?!? I know Israel hasn’t lost their damn minds, so I’ll just say wow, way to dishonor your democracy Israel.
What else did they expect from Obama.
The man is STUPID, I don’t care how well he speaks, the man is not intellectually up to the task.

Mubarak’s 80 years old and on his way out. Supporting him means supporting someone with next to no popular support among the populace and the weakening support among the military. You either back the walking dead or you try and salvage something out of it by greasing his way out the door.
The majority of “the jews” voted democrat and voted for Obummer. How could they do that to Israel?

IMO it has to do with the Kool-Ade (or Obama's hypnotic combined use of NLP and massive campaign of manipulative iconography).
Make no mistake about it, the only thing that can explain why millions of people voted against their better judgment and continue to support that position is something like hypnosis or mind control. If anyone has a better suggestion as to the missing piece of the behavioral puzzle, I would love to hear it.
