I don’t think anyone here likes Mubarak or thinks it’s a good thing for “that awful man to remain in charge.” But to his credit, that awful man is largely responsible for the fact there has been no general war between Israel and the rest of the middle east for at least 20 years. That war will likely go nuclear if Egypt joins the other savages surrounding Israel. So the choice, if we are even players here, is between bad and a whole lot worse.

What infuriates me is the administration is apparently working to support Islamist driven demonstrations in Egypt while, most generously characterized, it sat on it’s hands during the anti-Islamist demonstrations in Iran. Frankly, I think Americans need to be more concerned about the “awful men” who rule America than dictators in Egypt.

Egypt falling to the Mullahs is a complete game changer—and that is the overwhelmingly likely result here.

One good thing, any sensible foreign policy would cancel all foreign aid to Egypt once the MB boys take control and that’s a pretty big line item—so we could shave off a bit of Obama’s deficit. Of course, Zero will probably double it—it’s an investment, you know.

How true. “Hey. Honey, why don’t we pack and go visit the pyramids?” “Oh, thank you, what a great idea, I’ll start packing!”

“There absolutely NO room for “instincts or character” in regards to making tactical decisions. “

Sarah Palin has as much experience as Ronald Reagan did at the same points of any White House runs.

Very few Presidential candidates have any, as you say, “direct experience in Military protocol” going in.

So I'm a bit baffled by that comment?

I agree. Not good news for us.

Except Obama is probably green with envy that Mubarak could shut down the internet and all communications. He’d love to do that.

Maybe one good outcome of all this is getting Congress to delete the billions in baksheesh we have been sending Egypt every year.

Ask and you shall receive ... Fox News: US has cut off all aid to Egypt.

” The current condition has gone well beyond “Strategic” decisions. That should have occurred several years ago when we started pulling our troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq, “

That should have occurred decades ago, when the strategic decision was made to base the US Economy on imported petroleum, and, for the most part, abandon domestic production....

another aspect of this is that every other ally of ours is seeing Obama throw Mubarak under the bus. After today, no one will have any confidence in us whatsoever. It’ll like Hanoi in 75. We had no credibility, the Russians were on the move. You saw things go up in Angola, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Indochina, etc...

What do you think Abdullah in Jordan is thinking seeing how we sat by and did nothing as our key ally of 30 yrs in the region just got taken out? What are they thinking in Riyadh seeing Obama let the MB waltz right in? In the Gulf? In Jerusalem? What do you think Putin and Hu are thinking taking the measure of Obama?

US suspending aid? Well, we shouldn’t be giving aid to Egypt anyway, but what does this tell us about Obama’s position on this?

CNN actually discussed a little while ago about how much communication has managed to get out of Egpyt in spite of the supposed ban. Many tweets coming out of Egypt.

I bet you are sad that you won't be paying a brutal dictator anymore... Maybe you can get Ahmadinejad or the Muslim Brotherhood's PO Box and mail them a check.

The USA should not be paying dictators or terrorist groups. We should be opposing them on the field of battle!

You're a freaking fruit loop. Do you even know how Mubarak came to power?

Any case we will very soon find out.

Once the radicals take over things will get worse for all the people.

You seem to forget that one of those radicals has already taken over here, which is why this is happening there.

The middle east needs to be in flames so theu are incapable of growing and thriving.

Understanding the nature of fire might help here. And if you think the Middle East is going to be a controlled burn, an understanding of Islam might also be good.
