FWIW I have kept the Emails brief and to the point. Politicians: I am very concerned about the safety and welfare of Americans stuck in Eygpt. You need to immediately show some leadership to ensure their safety. Begin with those stuck at the Cairo Airport.
LOL. I’m certain mine go directly to the trash. I try anyway. The press might be more receptive if the Email is just one of concern for Americans and doesn’t bash O. Just my thoughts.

I have a large extended family. Out of approximately 45 relatives(including aunts, uncles, cousins, and 2nd cousins) there are only 2 of us who count on sources other than the MSM for information and news. Of the remaining number, I would guess 3 or 4 keep up with daily news via local newspaper and tv. The rest are oblivious to news and info. Hubby and I try to share some of it but we are usually met with glazed eyes and disinterest. We try to share tips about having well stocked pantries and other preparations and are met with excuses (We can't afford it.) or denial (It won't get that bad.) Our kids try to have conversations with their cousins about world happenings or current events and they get made fun of or are asked "Why do we need to know that stuff. We're kids." To which my 17 and 14 year olds reply "This is our country and we won't be kids forever."
It's maddening. My husband has already said that our door will not be open to them in a crisis or SHTF situation. My hope and prayer is that if we are needed we will help as best we can, with hearts filled by a loving God.
I just don't understand why they won't listen. Why they can't see the writing on the wall. I understand completely how overwhelming it can be...we sometimes have to take a break from it. But we take a break and then come back to it. It's our duty as parents, as a spouses, as adult children with elderly parents, and as Americans to know what's going on.
I found FR right after 9/11 and I'm so glad I did.

I guess the average American does not think “what if” when they travel abroad.....I always tend to have a “plan B” in place...or an alternate route of “escape” if you will......I can not say how I would act were I in Cairo now...since I am not there...but I do think, if possible, I would rent a car and drive toward Libya or Jordan.......before they turn to chit too.
Praying for Israel and the whole world. These are uncertain times for every human on the planet on a ‘regular’ day much less in the midst of a mess like this.
All you need to get those folks out, is the U S Marines OOOOOOOOOOOOOOORAH

That mindset of not thinking ahead is exactly what I can’t comprehend. I don’t obsess over it, but it’s always there. Maybe it’s because I’m an ex-sailor who’s married to a former Marine. ;)
We just heard about Anderson Cooper going in. If news people can get in, they can get out. Surely they could rescue a few people! I am thinking specifically about those college students. What about crazy John Travolta and all those other rich liberals with their own airplanes. They are always looking for a cause. Somebody ask them to put their money where their big preachy mouths are. What about the college where these kids go. Don’t they have some rich benefactors with connections? There is no excuse for this. Apparently our gov’t had a heads up about this, and did nothing to protect citizens. Still doing nothing. This is sickening.
