One wonders why we are waiting for GOD to save us.........when in reality, GOD gave us all the tools to save ourselves...it is WE who are failing to use those tools.......(just something to ponder)

OMG, I will NEVER forget that! Jennifer Griffin is just reporting without blinking an eye, and ole Shep boy is crouched down, cowering behind a folding chair. Sissy.

Jennifer Griffen was one hell of a good reporter in Israel. I don’t watch the news anymore, so I don’t know where she is stationed now. I gave up the news during the Presidential primaries and never turned it back on. My blood pressure thanks me.

I understand your points. My point, in the previous post, was to highlight the active social & political participation of Iranian women (whether secularist, leftist, or Islamist) vis a vis women in other ME countries, and that it has a long history in Iran. That’s why we saw many Iranian women protesters taking part both during 1979 & 2009 uprisings in Iran, whereas I haven’t seen any at all in Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, etc.., so far.

My reference to Zoroastrianism & “gender equality” was, also, in the context of post-Islam Iran, and that the Zoroastrian identity & history is still very alive in Iran through the Persian language, customs, traditions, national celebrations, names of the months, even aspects of the Shia (twelvers) Islam, and much more.. In fact, there has been a Zoroastrian revival in Iran in the past decade, but, understandably, it is mostly underground just as the Evangelical Church in Iran, whose members are mainly Muslim born Iranians.

But, of course, the Zoroastrian identity & culture has been muted & in parts modified because of the imposition of Islam on Iranians in general & on Iranian women in particular. Comparatively, post-Islam, Tunisia & Egypt became both Islamized & Arabized, although there are still Christian born Tunisians & Egyptians there as there are in most, nowadays, called “Arab” countries.

This is an interesting read, including the role of women (not all leftist) during & after 1979 revolution in Iran.

Equally, I very much doubt most Iranian women who took to the streets in Iran in the 2009 uprising (the one Obama didn’t support) were secularists. One can’t assign a clear percentage, though, based on feedback I had, I’d say a good number of them were pro-Moussavi & Karroubi, therefore, not ‘secularists’ or ‘leftists’, but ‘Islamic reformists’ – IOW, they’d like to see the overall current Islamic gov’t structure to stay in place, but advocate reform & greater freedom.

Give you a break??? Will this break do? Or the fact that Soros and his pet puppet Obama are involved? Really Valin!(smile), or do you mean that an apparently very thin, weak and wasted Obama is just the procrastinating figure head and not the one who did it? Blame Biden and Hillary? After all he went to watch his daughter play basketball rather than meet with experts and is reportedly totally detached and disinterested. Way over his head.

Egypt blames U.S. for fomenting uprising

EL AVIV – The Egyptian government suspects elements of the current uprising there, particularly political aspects, are being coordinated with the U.S. State Department, WND has learned. A senior Egyptian diplomat told WND today the regime of President Hosni Mubarak suspects the U.S. has been aiding protest planning by Mohamed ElBaradei, who is seen as one of the main opposition leaders in Cairo. ElBaradei, former International Atomic Energy Agency chief, has reinvented himself as a campaigner for “reform” in Egypt. He is a candidate for this year’s scheduled presidential elections. ElBaradei arrived in Cairo just after last week’s protests began...

Wow, I had no idea! Thank God she is a survivor. I always enjoyed her reporting. She and Mike Tobin were great during the Israel/Hezbollah war.

America’s secret backing for rebel leaders behind uprising! Apparently this was gleaned from wiki-leaks.

She is a really remarkable gal, isn’t she?

So here we sit. Wondering if there really are Hamas coming into Egypt, how large a part the MB has played and is playing in this mess, if Anderson Cooper will have time for another tweet, if Obama enjoyed the basketball game with his daughter this afternoon, how many prisoners have been loosed on the streets of Egypt, can we be assured that someone(s) are working hard tonight for the interests of our nation...

Came to me from various points but the Daily Telegraph is what I have been using as source. Thanks for the origin which I did not have in my mind.

Obama has been working on this for quite some time and finally pushed too hard.

We are going to get our tired troops involved in this.

Do not think so. Could we use our jets to get our people out of Egypt? Anyone out there listening? I read up-thread, Delta did not land at Cairo, earlier today. If zer0 and his crowd will not get our people out, why not go around, and get it done some other way. If not us, who can we call on?

Thanks for the tip. So...we have the usual suspects involved in this “uprising.” Soros wants the NWO and a global currency. So, ofcourse he wants the economy to crash with oil shortages. Same with the other globalists, too.

We are screwed with this mob of oligarchs bulldozing the world and our Nation.

Just wanted to say thanks for starting this thread, SE Mom, and thanks to everyone for keeping it going since yesterday. Haven't followed an FR thread this closely in awhile. This thread reminds me of the old times, and why I love this site so much. As bad as things are, I think we're gettin' our mojo back!
