A celebrity journalist now claims he misspoke when he said last week that Hawaii’s governor told him he was unable to find President Barack Obama’s original birth certificate after a search of state and hospital archives.
Mike Evans told FoxNews.com on Wednesday he was remorseful and embarrassed that he appeared to have given the impression that he had discussed the search for Obama’s birth certificate with Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie.
Evans, who says he has been a close friend of Abercrombie since the 1980s, appeared on Minnesota’s KQRS radio last week and said he’d been told by the governor himself that Obama’s birth certificate was nowhere to be found. Evans told KQRS on Jan. 20:
"Yesterday, talking to Neil's office, Neil says that he searched everywhere using his powers as governor ..... there is no Barack Obama birth certificate in Hawaii. Absolutely no proof at all that he was born in Hawaii."
But that’s no longer Evans’ story.
“Only this I can you tell you is 100 percent fact: that Neil never told me there was no birth certificate,” Evans told Fox News. “I never talked to him.”

Whoa! Evans claimed somewhere that he had done 30 interviews and the one in Minnesota is the only one where he sounded like he spoke to Abercrombie.
What all interviews are there? Can we round them up? How many times did he “misspeak”? Do you have an audio file of what you heard?
I don’t personally have one, but I bet KLBJ does. I bet the other stations do too. I’ll check their website.

If he indeed “mis-spoke”, he likely did it thirty-something times, with each of his call-ins to the various stations where he’s syndicated.
I heard him tell the same story that day on KLBJ in Austin to their local talent. He left no ambiguity that he HAD spoken to the governor and the governor had personally told him it wasn’t there.

Evans: no I haven't. The last time I talked to Neil I did a C-SPAN interview that he asked me to do a half hour television interview show at C-SPAN the day after Barack Obama was inaugurated, and it was then that he was really going to prove that he was born in Hawaii.
Boyles: have you attempted to call him?
Evans: I have not. Except that last one time I called him last week to find out that story I read about Kapiolani.
Boyles: should you in follow up not call him?
Evans: I am going to call him. I am going to call him. And in a way...I'm going to apologize to him and I wish I was able to reach him last week....

You can also go to Evans’ website where he has a list of affiliates. I’m sure they (the stations) have digitally immortalized it too.
But, I bet they’re doing something about that right about now, or when they realize what’s there and what’s been said.

Scared of what? Because he told what he believed that Obama does not have a Hawaiian BC, which Abercrombie has said in tantamount in his interviews with the press. He's got nothing to be scared of.
After all the trash talking we have heard from Niel Abercrombie for two years that he believes Obama was born in Hawaii he comes up with bupkis. He even passed a House non-binding resolution for Hawaii's 50th birthday that states Obama was born in Hawaii. LoL. Crummy Commie has got egg all over his face.
