Chris Matthews was nearly apoplectic in his questioning of Tea Party Express co-founder Sal Russo on the topic of Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and her controversial re-imagining of history where the founding fathers found a way to end slavery in their lifetime. Repeatedly calling Bachmann a "balloon head," Matthews demanded to know why Russo and the Tea Party wanted Bachmann to give a response to the State of the Union address or, more generally, why they ever wanted her to open her mouth in the first place?

Apparently you watched a different video clip than I did.
I don’t think it’s smart for Bachmann to make comments like, “John Quincy Adams wouldn’t rest until slavery was abolished.”
I am sure she doesn’t think that slavery was abolished in Adams’ lifetime but the way she worded the statement gave an easy opening to people like Chrissy who are waiting in the wings to pounce. She has to develop better instincts if she expects to be a player on the national stage.
That’s a good way to put it: “unleash their HATRED.” He truly SHOULD seek help.
Sometimes I think they are like those guests on Jerry springer or Steve Wilco, that they don't care if they are totally humiliated on MSNBC with their got-ya questions. They are just So happy to have someone put them on TV.
I would tell Matthews that he's just a Obama tool and he should start acting like a journalist. Most of these Republicans act like Deers in the headlights on these shows, terrified.

One of the most ridiculous so-called "debates" appeared on Hannity this week between Santorum and Sharpton, with Hannity contributing his usual inane points along the way. It began as a debate about Santorum's use of the word "black man" in a recent interview concerning the subject of abortion.
Then, both fell into the "3/5 of a person" trap, revealing the ignorance of both about America's founding philosophy and the rationale of the 3/5 designation. Santorum would have been wise to have kept that out of his argument. One might not have expected Sharpton to understand and articulate the points you made in your post; but, Santorum should have known better.
THAT was SO funny!! However, he's been obsessed with Rep. Michele Bachmann for years. NO kidding, he's made such a spectacle out of himself that he tried to make himself look "normal" by scheduling his own wife and interviewing her for about a third of his stoop crackpot show.

I watched it too. Sharpton is not the sharpest pencil in the box and is h*ll bent on capitalizing on racism. We all need to know what’s in the Constitution and what it means. Especially if the person is an elected official.
Chrissy gets hysterical regarding Bachmann - it is almost sexual. Also, he wanted attention drawn away from Obama’s boring speech.
