Honestly, I haven't decided if I can watch the Throne Speech this year. I know everything he's going to say will be politically expedient platitudes and/or appalling hypocritical. I think I'm too tired to spend an hour yelling, “How can he get that out of his mouth!?” at the TV and watching Sheila Jackson Lee in her red suit fight for TV time. I'm may just go Alito this year...I know that the absence of my commentary will hit the FR community hard (not!).

I have a sneaking suspicion this ridiculous bipartisan seatmate concept has one purpose: to make Obama look like he has support across the board when the audience is shown clapping, standing, etc, it won’t be split with Ds over here and Rs over there NOT clapping.

It’ll look to the average person, as the camera pans across the room, like everyone’s on board with Obama’s agenda and “inspiring” words.

Shame on the foolish, stupid GOP members for agreeing to this set-up.
