RUSH: I've been sitting on this story all week, purposely, just to see where it would go. And it has grown. This governor out in Hawaii, Neil Abercrombie, a well-known socialist, by the way, longtime member of Congress, now the governor of Hawaii, eally stepped in it earlier, well, I think it was not even this week, it was last week. The governor, Neil Abercrombie, some time ago said, (paraphrasing) "Look, I was there when Obama was born in Hawaii. That birth certificate, it exists. Everybody knows it. I was there when that kid was born." Turns out he wasn't there, and he admitted he wasn't there. He was there in spirit. He was trying to say he's that certain. See, he thinks that Obama ought to just get this off the table. Abercrombie is worried that this birth certificate thing is going to be a lingering problem heading into 2012. So Abercrombie, big friend of Obama, tried to step in there and head this off at the pass. It turns out he can't find the birth certificate, the governor of Hawaii cannot find it. It's just a notation that somebody wrote down.

Frankly, either the lets-rehabilitate-Hillary plan or the Abercrombie-protects-himself-from-donor-fraud-charges theories seem to me more plausible scenarios than the lets-rope-a-dope-a-few-birthers theory (the BC is not the only path to ineligibility). The dynamics aren’t right for the rope-a-dope. No pol, least of all a narcissistic pol with tyrannical inclinations, is going to allow pervasive doubt to erode his popularity and therefore detract from his power for years at a time, on a gambit that if reversed at just the right moment, he might get it all back on a single play. The damage can’t be reversed quickly enough, and the authenticity of any document produced will be immediately subjected to a firestorm of doubt as a probable fake due to the delay and the motivation to falsify, making the timing of a reversal of public sentiment even more unpredictable. No, I think the rope-a-dope theory could easily be a meme designed to prevent, right now, the ratcheting up of interest in the one thing that could quickly and permanently disable this presidency.
Maybe Neil is running his own ‘Operation Chaos’. I think he was a superdelegate for 0bama but maybe he’d prefer Hillary now.

I agree with your whole post but I’m leaning towars Abercommie protecting himself.
Nobody spends millions of dollars protecting a legitimate document or sends a LTC to prison for a joke.

Abercrombie's desire is to put to rest the assertion that Obama does not meet the eligibility requirements for office.
Abercrombie ,the Governor of the State that should have Obama's B.C., has asked to see it.
Now at this time, he , nor anyone else can locate it.
Abercrombie has proven that Obama does not meet the Constitutional requirements of office, at this time.
Obama should step aside until he can prove he meets the requirements.

It could be rope-a-dope but there are too many things about BO’s past that have been scrubbed. Not just his BC.

Tim Adams, the elections clerk, also says it doesn’t exist. His account is extemporaneous with the 2008 election.
Looks like our work is starting to reap some rewards.
Let's take the chance. The last minute doesn't really count, and they need to be put on notice. Anything that shows up after mid-summer 2012 would be an obvious attempt to pass off a forgery before it could be reasonably examined by people who know how to do such examining.
But that aside, I don't think Obama & Co. are clever enough to come up with the whole phantom strategy to tantalize their opponents.

Obama’s top terrorism and intelligence adviser, John O. Brennan, heads a firm that was cited in March for breaching sensitive files in the State Department’s passport office, according to a State Department Inspector General’s report released this past July.
The security breach, first reported by the Washington Times and later confirmed by State Department spokesman Sean McCormack, involved a contract employee of Brennan’s firm, The Analysis Corp., which has earned millions of dollars providing intelligence-related consulting services to federal agencies and private companies.
During a State Department briefing on March 21, 2008, McCormack confirmed that the contractor had accessed the passport files of presidential candidates Barack Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and John McCain, and that the inspector general had launched an investigation.
Sources who tracked the investigation tell Newsmax that the main target of the breach was the Obama passport file, and that the contractor accessed the file in order to “cauterize” the records of potentially embarrassing information.
“They looked at the McCain and Clinton files as well to create confusion,” one knowledgeable source told Newsmax. “But this was basically an attempt to cauterize the Obama file.”
At the time of the breach, Brennan was working as an unpaid adviser to the Obama campaign.

A key witness in a federal probe into passport information stolen from the State Department was fatally shot in front of a District church, the Metropolitan Police Department said yesterday.
Lt. Quarles Harris Jr., 24, who had been cooperating with a federal investigators, was found late Thursday night slumped dead inside a car, in front of the Judah House Praise Baptist Church in Northeast, said Cmdr. Michael Anzallo, head of the department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
Cmdr. Anzallo said a police officer was patrolling the neighborhood when gunshots were heard, then Lt. Harris was found dead inside the vehicle, which investigators would describe only as a blue car.
Emergency medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
City police said they do not know whether his death was a direct result of his cooperation with federal investigators.

I just saw this post on another message board. Not only can’t they find the birth certificate they’ve confirmed the COLB is fake.
