A most excellent posting of the truth.
All our children are being raised in a Christian American conservative home. I expect depending on their personalities many different experiences and involvement will play out. We have traveled to DC twice for the 9-12 March as a family.
Of all our children, we are preparing our daughter who is black on what she can expect and what may be her added role in society. She is an outgoing, social butterfly. Where much is given, much is expected. So far she seems ready for the challenge at 11yo, time will tell. Our son and thereby her brother who is black is developmentally 2-3 months old and although almost the same age they will have drastically different life experiences.
The burden is certainly on conservatives who are black to carry the truth to other Americans who are black. Unfortunately Obama’s election appears to me to have set race relations back many years. May our Lord be pleased to repay these relations for the years the locusts have eaten in part from Joel 2:25.
It truly is, which is why I applaud Anita Moncrief for putting together the first Tea Party in a black community. I also applaud Apostle Claver of Raging Elephants for spreading the conservative message in the black community, as well as many other lesser-known, but hard working conservatives of color.
Unfortunately Obamas election appears to me to have set race relations back many years.
I guess I'm a 'glass half full' sort of person. I see the election of Obama as an opportunity to emancipate blacks from the liberal plantation. He's the best example of the failure of affirmative action liberalism that I've ever seen.
Kudos to you for bringing up your children with patriotic, conservative values. Unlike most black children today, they have been born into freedom.
