Yes, I think you are correct.

The DemonRATS got the courts to legislate new rules just for them.

Rest assured, if this ruling ever favors a Republican, the DemonRATS will get it overturned. Guaranteed.

Torecelli was a shoe in against Doug Forrester, a rich buisnessman, Republican (as much as can be in NJ) until it came to light that Torecelli was involved with and got huge amounts of dirty money from some guy who is now in prison.

The state constitution said that if someone was going to drop out, as ‘the torch’ planned on doing, it had to be no less than 55 (?) days before the election. Torecelli was looking to get out 50 (?) days before and the Republicans said the dems should not be allowed to pull his name and replace it with Lautenberg.

The courts found otherwise and threw out the state constitution in favor of the dems. Torecelli was admonished by the Senate Ethics Committee and I think he is a lobbiest now. There were more hints at illegal stuff he did in the years after the election... but nothing has (or will) ever come of it.

I remember all of it because it was my 1st election after moving back to the state and i was disgusted by how it played out.
