The above was sent to me from someone who sent it via freepmail. Looks like it's going out to a ping list, so might as well bring it to light.

Some call me a tyrant. Whatever. I have stated my goals for Free Republic and will defend my right to freedom of speech and freedom of association and freedom to control the direction and content of my own personal property to the death! Those who wish to fight against me on these issues are free to do it elsewhere. I feel no compulsion to provide malcontents a soapbox. Wankers for Rudy McRomey can KMA!!

I'm not getting the complaint.

If you change the funding model, you won't have to be petty anymore? :-)

I rather like your Clint Eastwood way of administering “justice”. Zot first, let ‘em try to re-register later:)

I LOVE FR!

Those who don’t are free to leave.

Sorta sounds like it should be named TrueBlueFreedomRINO.com.

I for one am very thankful for Free Republic and the way you run it JimRob and have never seen anyone banned who didn’t deserve it.

Doesn’t interest me to go elsewhere. I tried it and found myself dealing with too many RINOs.

As for not running ads, that’s what insulates FR from some forms of legal interference and against charges that FR will not criticize “xyz” if their money depends on it.

It also makes no sense to say “FR must not die” and then try to set up a site to undermine FR’s subscription base.

So, whomever is setting up this site seems to be lacking in the logic department as well as setting himself up to be compromised by the advertising partners he attempts to attract.

Sounds scary enough that it should give you a bump in donations.

Hi Jim, class of ‘98 here.

I love Free Republic for the knowledge I gain and intellect of those who join me here.

Policing the boards for agitators who debate in bad faith is okay with me. If you don’t pull the weeds, the garden will die.

Thanks for everything.

BTW, when’s the next Freeper Convention. 9/12/09 was a great experience.

So he says it’ll be a bastion of conservatism...But with no enforcement...So there’s no way to keep out the non-conservatives...Which means it’ll basically just be ‘the internet’...And it’s not like we have one of those already.

There might be other conservative forums but there is no other Free Republic.

I know there is a backup site called http://altfreerepublic.freeforums.org and there is a little site called http://www.stink-eye.net that I have started visiting.

But there is no other site as easy to navigate and post on and as clean looking and as large as FR.

BTW, he/she/it could easily be a MoveOn.org or Democratic Underground operation.

The first reason is simple: Free Republic is too important to left in the hands of JimRob.

Wow! This nob writes this socialist claptrap above and then has the audacity to write about the free market in the next paragraph.

I guess he/she is too ignorant see the dichotomy.

I think I will just stick here at FR and and enjoy the best darned web site on the Internet.

The wording sounds like a freeper known as windflier. The feeling I had from him was youth and exuberance. The world didn't understand the conservative message because we didn't present the message correctly, technology and format would sell it to the world. That is like the liberals who still insist that they just have not told their message well enough and that is why the message is rejected, not the content.

I countered that the message has to sell itself and that if it is dependent on flash, smoke and mirrors, we are in a sinking boat.

Jim, maybe I am projecting on to you but Free Republic is a test for us. Are we buyers of the concept of freedom or do we have to be sold on it. It is debatable how this test will end.

I wish him well and also wish I had such youthful exuberance again. He's got the words, but not the music, but sometimes I wonder if I have either.
