Hello. You don’t know me under this name. For reasons that are going to be obvious soon, I didn’t wish to send you this message with my usual Free Republic account. This message is an invitation, a welcome to a new forum called TrueBlueFreedom.com
While I love the people who make up Free Republic, I have many complaints about Jim Robinson and his cronies who run the actual website. Over and over again, whenever somebody has complained or offered suggestions, they have been told by JimRob and others to go and start their own website if they know so much. Well, I’ve decided to take them up on that offer.
I’ve started TrueBlueFreedom.com for three simple reasons, and once you’ve read those reasons, I’m sure you’ll agree that we need to make a few adjustments if we want this powerful bastion of conservatism to remain. The first reason is simple: Free Republic is too important to left in the hands of JimRob. Jim and his son John have repeated stated that if just one Freepathon goal isn’t met, that’s it - “Free Republic will be dead.” I can’t stand the idea of America without Free Republic. Imagine if we hadn’t been there when Dan Rather was passing around his forgeries, how different things would be today. Now realize that, as things are going, we won’t be around when the next Rathergate happens. We can’t allow that to happen, and since JimRob has publicly refused to deal with this issue, we have to take matters into our own hands. My solution is TrueBlueFreedom.com
The second reason is that I believe that free market capitalism has made America great, and that attempting any other system will lead us to ruin. A belief JimRob apparently doesn’t share, since he continues to refuse to place ads on Free Republic and instead depend on a PBS-esque donation system. We are not NPR, and we are not a charity – why do we raise money like one? For this reason, I’ve developed TrueBlueFreedom.com to depend on advertisements. TrueBlueFreedom.com will not depend on donations, instead, we will depend on the opportunities provided by the free market to create a self-sustaining version of Free Republic – without the constant Freepathons.
The third reason is that JimRob is, in my opinion, a petty tyrant. How many of you know somebody who was purged? How many wonder if you may be next on the list? If you’re neither of these people, consider this: Giuliani was America’s Mayor in 2008. That didn’t stop JimRob from purging all his supporters without warning. How do you know that whoever you support in the Republican primaries won’t raise JimRob’s wrath? How do you know the next purge group won’t be Mormons, Jews, Birthers, Pro-Palin, Anti-Palin, and so on? I believe that purging the non-believers and demanding total mental agreement with the “Dear Leader” is the exact opposite of conservative values, regardless of where JimRob stands on abortion and homosexuality. And for that reason, I’ve set up TrueBlueFreedom.com as a place where conservatives who follow the rules will not be banned, no matter how much I disagree with them. Regardless of your politics, religion, or favorite sport team, you will only be banned for breaking the rules. TrueBlueFreedom.com is a purge-free zone.
So, I hope you’ve read all this, and will accept my invitation. If this seems like something you can believe in, come to TrueBlueFreedom.com, sign up, and start talking. And if you like it, spread the word. Because Free Republic is too important to just let die.
LOL! But how do you really feel JimRob?
You are so right. FR is not just a web site, it’s a community. Some of us have been here since the village was incorporated. We have here some of the closest friends we have ever had. I have very close friends in CA who have actually made trips to WV to visit. I had a friend in SC who was closer to me than any of my sisters (she is in heaven now). Why on earth would we even consider another web site? It would be like moving to China. The people there would not speak our language (we do have our own language). FR is included in my prayers. May she continue to exist as the best village on earth, and a safe haven for Christian Conservatives. THANK YOU JIM AND JOHN.

I have been a freeper since 1998. With permission, changed my user name.
I have seen many changes here at FR. I go nuts when this site is not available for any reason.
That being said, One time somebody did not like what I said on some thread and they reported me. I was banned for awhile for just stateing my opinion. I know this has happened to many other freepers here as well.
I think when somebody starts a different conservative site I am happy. All of us have many points of view when it comes to conservatism. I think this is a good thing.
Before we pass judgement, we should wait and see how the site goes. As for the critisism of Jim Rob, well we all have people we know that don’t like us so I am not really considering what this person has to say.
In my dealings with Jim Rob (which are few the ban situation was really the only time), he was really nice, and I know he and his brother work very hard to make FR the best conservative site on the web.
One question though one might ask is, why do some people feel the need to move on from here? Find out why instead of blowing them off as morons and so forth.
Right now we need to stick together as conservatives and welcome the new site.
If they are nothing but liberal trolls trying to sabotage FR their true colors will be revealed soon enough.

What I have done, is put up an emergency back-up site for Freepers to have a place to gather when FR goes down. I did that about two years ago. It doesn't get much traffic, even during outages, but it's there, nonetheless.
I don’t think we will ever know unless someone can hack to get the name.
Freepers are a pretty resourceful and tenacious bunch. I think someone will eventually root out this person's identity.
It has already been discovered to be an anti-Freeper site. They also support conspiracy theories about 9/11 etc. They are anti-Israel and anti-Palin.

Read the thread! Freepers went there and reported back. This whole thread is full of reports. HOW could you have missed them?!

I just went and looked around.
There is nothing anti Palin about it, they are discussing her merits. There is nothing anti Israel about it. There was a thread with a poll about 9-11 and most people seem to be NOT buying into the conspiracy angle.
As for being anti FR, that's a mixed bag as near as I can tell. What the site does seem to be though is moderates that want to call themselves conservatives when they really aren't. They aren't all moderates mind you, but, a lot of them come off that way and I think the few conservatives that are posting there, won't stay there for long and will return to the real conservative site.
That's just my take on what I saw and read over there.

Look! there are over 1000 posts, I do not have time to check every single one of them. I have taken a look at the site, I really dont see a problem there so far. All I was saying is that there is plenty of room for other conservative sites. I am not going to take the word from a poster.
It is clear however that the person behind this site worked behind the scenes of FR. I dont think it is necessarily an anti Freeper site(however some posters seem to be) but the person who has started it has defended Jim especially on the fundrasing here.
Bob J(I am assuming is the site creator) does have some personal issues with Jim that has nothing to do with me or FreeRepublic in general. I get the sense that he feels betrayed. I have no opinion on that because that is between him and Jim Rob.
I love Freerepublic. I come here every day at least 5 times a day.
You have some people who have a axe to grind so be it. And the fact that there are some there who as you say anti Free Rupublic. All I care about is are they anti conservative.
That is basically what I have observed over there as well.
What are your thoughts on this?
