Director Spike Lee, along with his wife Tonya, were on the Today show this morning to promote their new childrens book. But, Spike coudlnt help himself. When he was asked about the Tucson shootings Spike told Meredith Viera (who is still pushing the line that Loughner snapped because of the tea party, etc.) that, The United States is the most violent county in the history of civilization.
MEREDITH VIEIRA: I want to talk a little bit about what happened in Arizona last week-
SPIKE LEE: Right.
VIEIRA: -because theres been so much discussion about discord in this country-
LEE: Right.
VIEIRA: -and the level of rhetoric. And not saying that it was responsible for what happened, but that it just adds to negativity, in general.
LEE: Heres my, my take in it. I think that, as film makers, as politicians, as artists, we have to understand that all, whatever we do goes out in the universe. And you should be aware of what youre doing. And you cannot just say Well I just did this and, and my had nothing to do with what happened. Thats, thats not, thats not the case. Also the United States of America is the most violent country in the history of civilization. And this NRA thing. We gotta turn this around. You know these, these guns are out of hand. And I know they have a very powerful lobby but something has to be done about the gun control in this country. Thats my opinion.

He needs to be laughed off the face of the earth. What is he smoking?
It sounds like Spikee must have just fired up a “bomber”. He definitely doesn’t know much about history or civilization.
So move to the Sudan. That’ll teach us real good.
Or, just send Spike to Mexico this week.
And if he was just a little empathetic to human beings not of his own race, he would see real violence and tragedy waged against innocent people all over the Muslim world.
Moron.
Moron. Meredith the Marxist knows where to go to get her opinion mirrored.
The United States has produced more morons than any other Country in the History of Civilization
There, fixed it.
Idiot, go to somalia and become someones slave...
“Idiot Spike Lee: The United States Is the Most Violent Country in the History of Civilization
His problem is the statement presupposes that the declarant has some understanding of the “History of civilization”. When Spike Lee talks about anything that requires some kind of “understanding”, he’s in over his head. Pointing out the glaring examples that disprove his premise would be an utter waste of time.
All of Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. All nice safe friendly places Mr Lee can live in.
The truly awful thing is he probably believes that.
So says the guy who wanted to shoot Charlton Heston with a .44 bulldog.
Racist maggot.
He makes “Wrong Way” Corrigan look like a genius.
America is the most violent country of all time like Spike Lee is the best director of all time.
For Spike Lee to say anything regarding the state of our society is complete and utter bullshit.
Good grief. We’re not even the most violent country in the world TODAY, much less in the “history of civilization”. What a dolt.
SnakeDoc
Can we just parachute this guy into the middle of the Congo so he can experience what a really violent society is like?
Marxist LIE! It is their MO.
His outrageous lie gives credence to the idea that there is extreme jealousy of the genius of our white, heterosexual Founders whose brilliance was proven over centuries and is such an amazing accomplishment in political theory, it even holds up as nearly perfect today.
Zero is absolutely so jealous, he is trying to destroy all evidence of this history and our traditions.....just like Gramsci, Lukacs and Marcuse ordered to destroy Western Civilization—do it from within.
Another fellow traveler. Nothing new here.
This incendiary speech is OK however.
