Rosie was black.

Therefore the cops are racist too.

Let's see halfa** pet owner fails to keep large dog on property and its the cops fault, guess if someone had run over it it would have been the drivers fault. Take a little personal responsibility pet owners.

...reviewing their procedures so an incident like Rosie’s death does not happen again.

That's as much as admitting the shooting was unnecessary.

In another video you hear an officer fire his gun, presumably hitting the dog, then another officer saying “Nice”.

Which provides proof (as if any were really needed) that killing dogs has become part of the cop “culture” these days.

It doesn’t matter what line of work you happen to be in - when coworker B sees coworker A perform some job related function and immediately says “nice” - that can only mean that said action was part of the “corporate culture”.

If I helped a customer or straightened out a messed up situation at my job, one of my coworkers might say “nice”.
If I acted way out of line with company policy - not so much.

This is something that anybody who has been in the workforce can relate to, no matter in what job capacity.

Show me where I’m wrong in my reasoning here.

I don’t even need to see the video! I have owned Newfies, they are huge and hairy and drool, they are the LEAST aggressive of ALL breeds!

Bastards!

I’ll tell ya... The 98% of cops that are bad, give the 2% that are good a bad name....

I can’t bring myself to watch the video, but I really doubt that a newfoundland would be anywhere near that aggressive to justify execution

We have owned two Newfies, both males. A very big black and a smallish (110 lb) landseer.

It is very hard to envision any breed being as gentle and non-aggressive as them. Really, they are amazingly docile and friendly.

To consider one (especially a female) a threat is simply nonsense.

Killing a pet/dog in the context of a no-knock gestapo raid is bad enough...but this??

It must be recognized that these officers must also pass judgement on humans they encounter in their job.

Would you want an officer with their mindset to quickly judge how you, your family, your neighbors would be treated by them?

Osifer Jack Boots needed four shots with a .223 rifle to kill a don lying on the ground?

What can we determine from the above statement of the true fact of the shooting of the dog?

1. Ossifer Jack Boots can’t humanely kill an animal. Even a law enforcement person should be able to manage to shoot a non-moving dog in the brain when shooting under the conditions described in the Des Moines Police report.
2. Ossifer jack Boots should be charged with animal cruelty due to his needing four shots to kill the dog.
3. The entire killing process was a prolonged and unnecessary infliction of pain on an animal that was lying down when it was shot.

I’d like to not hear any more whines from the AR-15 bunch about the effectiveness of the .223 round, the one otherwise known as “the mouse gun round”. If it can’t kill a sleeping dog, what good will it do when used to defend against a drugged and armed attacker?

Every LEO should be required to take training in animal behavior. This shoot-the-dog horseshit needs to stop.
