That may have been true in 1778.

One day, out of a clear sky, like a bolt from the blue, this man will say something that isn’t either categorically untrue or misleading or abusive.
I’m not holding my breath or anything, but I do hope for the best.

Is this a parody? Honestly, I’d expect Obama to say something like our best friend is China or Venezula.

Let’s call these countries “friends”..not allies.

technically Obama is British, so he’s just demonstrating true liberal self loathing.

Sarkozy did say that Obama might be insane.
Or at least that's what the Russians said when they revealed a supposed secret French report.
It may just be a Russian fabrication, but this is beginning to sound like that puzzle about the tribe in Africa where everyone is a liar.

Mr Obama said: 'We dont have a stronger friend and stronger ally than Nicolas Sarkozy, and the French people.'Apparently the word hasn't gotten out yet to the French people.

1. The US should have interests, not allies.
2. The Gay Relationship was created by Woodrow Wilson (who let young Americans die to bail out the Brits), and solidified by FDR. It is only held together by sentimentality amongst a shrinking minority of the population.

I must agree that that was true in the old days but last year I was in France and it wasn’t very pleasant for a yank.
