New details emerging about the suspected shooter behind Saturday's deadly rampage reveal a 22-year-old man with a troubled past who law enforcement say may have been influenced by American Renaissance, a pro-white publication.
And FoxNews.com has learned that the suspect purchased a firearm legally and after passing an FBI background check from Sportsman's Warehouse's Tucson store in November, the company's vice president of hunting operations told FoxNews.com.
Loughner did not present a concealed weapons permit so he was required to pass an FBI background check, which he did "immediately and without incident," said Matt French, speaking from the Sportsman's Warehouse's Utah headquarters.

Take your Dramamine boys and girls. The spin is going to make us motion sick.
LOL! I’ll bet Nappy Napolitano would agree with that!
Hey, notice how Obama’s FBI guy wants to talk about “hate speech” on the internet? Maybe he wants us all to have “Internet IDs”!
So, the FBI themselves said he was A-OK!
Prior drug-related conviction and no flags?
Jared Loughner unable to enlist in Army because of drug use

That is a test Obama probably could not pass based on his past associations with people like Bill Ayers.
Spin doesn’t accurately describe the hard propaganda we are witnessing over this issue.
The DailyKos post threatening this woman 48 hours before the shooting says it all.
If the FBI really worked, Obama would not be President today, someone with those kind of associations with terrorists and communists would NEVER have passed a background check. Obama would never be allowed on El Al Airlines
Until he committed a felony he had a right to buy a firearm. What is being implied here? We should limit who has a right to buy a firearm based on the opinion of any man? No, we are a nation of laws not of men. Don’t let them use this to assault your rights. If someone in the crowd had been armed, lives could have been saved.
To the Libs drug convictions are a badge of honor.
White people are evil, racist, anti-Latino, anti-Mexican and anti-black...
This message is clear....Kill them before they kill you...
"Is Daily Kos involved in Arizona Murders?"
"Jared Lee Loughner Burning the American Flag"
Loughner...... Confirmed Leftist by Friend on Twitter"
DHS Memo Suggests Shooter May Be Linked To Racist Organization"
We survived the massive attack on the Tea Party by the fascist msm. We will survive this.
We will just have nubs for fingers when the dust settles.
Yet the county Sheriff says Loughner had been visited by police for having made multiple death threats. The sheriff wouldn’t say when or to whom the death threats were made. Sounds like the college where Loughner went recognized him as needing psychological help but this sheriff didn’t - even after the police knew he was making death threats.
And either those death threats were after the gun was bought in November, or else the same FBI that is supposed to be investigating this case gave instant fun-owndership clearance to a guy who had made death threats and was told that he couldn’t go back into college classes until he had psychological clearance to do so.
It is really, really dangerous for us to have either incompetent or corrupt people in such important positions.
The article cited in this thread shows what a political hack Janet Napolitano is, trying to connect this guy to American Renaissance even though anything they might have checked to verify such a connection is being denied by the head of that group. Somebody’s either making stuff up, or lying. With Napolitano’s track record in telling all local law enforcement that limited-government advocates are terrorists, I don’t trust anything she says or writes.
A very, very sad state of affairs when the foxes are guarding the henhouse.
If the reporting is correct, he was not convicted. He entered a diversion program.
However, his actions at the college strongly signal mental illness but his suspension is apparently as far as it went. Should this come up in a background check? Clearly, unstable people should probably not be allowed to have a gun. But how far do we infringe on a citizen’s right to keep and bear arms? Mental illness is generally pretty subjective.
Scary stuff!
You mean to tell me government failed???
It doesn’t appear he committed a felony.

“As we understand it, there have been law enforcement contacts with the individual where he made threats to kill,” Dupnik said during a press conference Saturday evening. But he wouldn’t say who those threats were aimed at.
