"From February to September 2010, Loughner had five contacts with PCC police for classroom and library disruptions at Northwest and West campuses. On September 29, 2010, College police discovered on YouTube a Loughner-filmed video made at Northwest Campus. In the video, he claims that the College is illegal according to the U.S. Constitution, and makes other claims.

"Working with legal counsel, College administration issued a letter of immediate suspension on September 29, 2010. That evening, two police officers delivered the letter of suspension to the student at his and his parents’ residence and spoke with the student and his parents.

From the British Health Service webpage(LINK):
"Drugs do not directly cause schizophrenia, but studies have shown that drug misuse increases the risk of developing schizophrenia or a similar illness."

"Three major studies have shown that teenagers under 15 who use cannabis regularly, especially ‘skunk’ {potent pot} and other more potent forms of the drug, are up to four times more likely to develop schizophrenia by the age of 26."

3 out of 4, of the drug users who develop schizophrenia (by age 26) would not have developed schizophrenia if they were not users. Doesn't this say enough?

They won’t listen. It’s a lost cause to try and explain that their drug is bad in any way.

There was no meeting at the school.

two police officers delivered the letter of suspension to the student at his and his parents’ residence and spoke with the student and his parents.

There was no meeting - they sent the police to his house which of course was also his parents.

They have zero responsibility in that matter.

You need to give your blind worship of pot a rest.
It is a psychotropic drug and definitely needs to be avoided by the mentally ill.
It certainly does not have a “calming effect” on a Schizophrenic affective, okay?

There is no need to attack mental health practitioners who disagree with you as being “full of it.”

They deal with it every day - you just smoke it.

Just like the Virginia Tech case, the college knew he was dangerous/unbalanced (had to call campus police multiple times) yet they did nothing.

"The pot causes schizophrenia in many of the mentally ill."

I knew someone who when he smoked pot would become extremely paranoid. I think he was paranoid to begin with, the pot just magnified it.

I think people who are wired correctly, just get the munchies.

Not what the college says. Apparently they sent they letter, suspended him and met with him and his parents.

"Loughner and his parents met Northwest Campus administrators October 4, 2010. During this meeting Loughner indicated he would withdraw from the College.

The liberal elites and progressives have made it very hard to legally put people like this young man in mental institutions. It has been one of their ‘causes’ for decades to get these people out of institutions and is the main reason there are so many of them on the streets now. If you are successful in getting a court order for treatment for someone, it usually last only 30 days...hardly enough time to treat these people with any success.

This is the angle of this story that needs more exposure. My guess is that it will be ignored by the media altogether.

Read the article- “”Loughner and his parents met Northwest Campus administrators October 4, 2010. During this meeting Loughner indicated he would withdraw from the College.”

Again- They may bear no LEGAL responsibility. They’re still parents, though. And that, my FRiend, doesn’t end when your child turns 21.

This is different. When my relative smokes pot, he doesn’t come down from his high. He gets higher and higher until schizophrenic. Drugs administered at the hospital is the only way to bring him down and this takes weeks. The sad part is my relative has no or little memory of events while psychotic. We had to make the decision to video him and play the video to him while sane. He was humiliated and horrified, but he agreed to treatment on his own.

Unfortunately, his well-meaning friends point to the internet where there is a plethora of information claiming that marijuana does not cause schizo. My relative, wanting to believe the tripe, will partake to prove it is not the it. After several of these episodes, he has realized that he can’t smoke pot. Hopefully, he will not regress again. It is a nightmare for all of us when he is ill. Thankfully, he isn’t violent, bit he has to be watched 24/7 to ensure he does not harm himself.

You have no clue. If we did not care for him, he would be dead. Maybe in your eyes this would be best, but understand that when he is sane, my relative is a loving, caring individual that is a joy to be around.

He’s your son, pal. It’s your call whether you feel “responsible” or not. Legally, no. But, he’s your son- not a contract.

Hey pal, you are the one who keeps throwing this parental responsibility for grown adults out there so don’t get snippy when I call you for specifics on it.

You just made my point. It is his parents call to make and yet you are the who kept making it.
