what a jerk reply shame on you, no one deserves this... how about that little girl killed? I swear some people here never cease to amaze me.
God bless you, sounds as though you’ve been “rewired!” The brain is a wonderful and mysterious organ and somehow finds ways of repairing itself, it finds new neural pathways.
Her father would obviously be distraught and at his age maybe just blurted out what he was told. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for now. The media shouldn’t even be questioning a 75 year old guy whose daughter was just shot in the head, they just wanted some sound bite to exploit, IMHO.
My dad said I only did it for spite....;-D
It may be unseemly to balance value, but the Wendy's crew improve the quality of my life. Which is more than I can say about the (overall, nine-year olds excepted, obviously) set of victims in this overblown distraction of a news story.
That's my selfish point of view, and I'm sticking to it. Just being honest. And F you!
You are totally right.
The parts that “we usually don’t use” [whatever *that* means] kicked in and took up the slack.
The only deficit I never shook was anosmia.
To this day, they’re not even totally sure I have *that* as my sense of taste is far more acute than someone who *can* smell.
I may be smelling things perfectly normally but some “wire” that tells my conscious brain that I am is still “unplugged”.
Several years ago, dear hubby sniffed some chicken salad that I thought tasted “a little funny”, pronounced it fine and dandy and then got to watch me go through a week of food poisoning fun.
Ow.
You have quite the talent for making grand understatements....LOL
The comments from many of the readers are frightening.
Thanks for sharing that.
It’s sad that her father doesn’t seem to be able to tell the difference between people opposing his daughter’s policies, and being her personal enemies.
The “experts” know nothing. We were told that my daughter would probably have brain damage from an illness when she was 6 weeks old. At the time, she was on a ventilator, so she couldn’t have an MRI. When she got off the ventilator, we didn’t do the MRI because we figured it wouldn’t change the way we treated her and it was risky because she would have to be sedated.
She sat up, crawled and walked when she was supposed to. At 2, she had speech problems. Our neurologist said he thought the MRI would show nothing. Well, the MRI showed she had tons of damage (on a scale of 0-10, she was a 5). The neurologist said he was surprised she wasn’t severely disabled and in a wheelchair.
She’s 14 now, and she still has speech problems and some other little problems. However, she looks normal. She is in a regular private school getting As and Bs. She is extremely good at math.
The “experts” just don’t know that much about the brain. The brain is amazing at adapting.
I guess you never watched Greta when she was on CNN. Greta is not the least bit conservative, and she tends to talk over anyone with whom she disagrees. Best not trust her with your life. She’s just another human being with her own set of biases. You remind me of an co-worker who was certain that OJ Simpson was innocent just because he was a “sports figure.” Get a life toots!
Yes, I watched her on CNN. I find that she's a host that least talks over her guest--difference of opinion, I suppose.
I am pretty certain Greta and I wouldn't see eye-to-eye on politics but I also love sardines and the hubby could hurl at the mere sight of the tin.
Somehow we manage to live with that difference-- I can like and respect people who don't see eye-to-eye or agree with me on everything.
Best not trust her with your life. Shes just another human being with her own set of biases.
Typing to a forum isn't nearly as good as talking to someone face-to-face, many times things come across not quite how it was meant-- this looks like one of those times.
I mean to say that if for whatever reason...I needed somebody to defend my life at trial or whatever, she's the lawyer/person I would want.
Yes, I realize she doesn't really do that now and that would never happen BUT she's the type of lawyer I would want.
I think she has a fantastic work ethic, she does her homework, she's honest, smart and very professional-- in my opinion.
You remind me of an co-worker who was certain that OJ Simpson was innocent just because he was a sports figure.
Well, your co-worker and I would have disagreed mightily, I've never thought Simpson innocent for one second.
I did try to listen to the evidence and they never convinced me he was anything other than a disgusting murderer.
Get a life toots!
I have a life, snookums...although it may not be to your standards, it suits me fine, thanks.
