Trent Humphries was headed to the local Safeway for some milk when he was stopped by a police barricade. It wasn't until later that he would find out that a congresswoman with whom he had often clashed politically had been shot there, along with more than a dozen people. A neighbor was among the dead.
"We were sickened," recalled Humphries, an organizer with the Tucson tea party movement. "Obviously, we do not condone violence. We've had dozens and dozens of events and we've never had violence. Whoever did this, they're not grounded in political thought. I would be very surprised if it was someone who had ever come to our meetings."
Across Arizona, conservative and tea party activists expressed shock and dismay at the shooting of Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and others in the grocery store parking lot in Tucson on Saturday morning. Though little was known about the alleged shooter Saturday afternoon, questions inevitably arose about his politics. Giffords, a moderate Democrat, had been frequently criticized by tea party groups for her opposition to the state's crackdown on illegal immigrants and her support for the health care overhaul.

I hate the Washington Post. 90% gay liberal boys playing politics at every turn. Be gone.
Lefties commenting on WP are busy blaming the Tea Parties, Glenn Beck, and/or Sarah Palin, and can not conceive of the shooter himself (who hit many non-politicians as well as Giffords) as anything leftward of “politically neutral.”
IOW the usual denial and spin.
I hate the Washington Post. A bunch of gay liberal boys who insist on playing politics at every turn. Be gone.
This reminds me of the “Duke 88” leftist college professors who blamed the “white-boy” LaCrosse players for raping that “poor black girl”. After all, how could these evil white males NOT be guilty?
Of course, when the players were determined to be completely innocent, no apologizes from the leftist vermin. Same thing will happen in this case.
Here is a classic example of how politically corrupt the MSM, including the Washington Post, really is. They will do everything they can to blame everything bad on their political enemies....they will shovel as much dirt over the true nature of this killer that they can.
A radical, nutcase liberal will be protected by the MSM.
Holy cow! The comments on that page are just amazing. Those folks are completely unhinged.
They are so unhinged they are capable of anything....including the violence that just occured. Wonder what will happen when they disoover he’s a leftist?
Just a few examples, there are many many more of total leftist derangement, (If F.R. servers allow me to post them that is):

“Ariz. tea party activists voice shock at shooting”
Why? OH! because Giffords lived.

The hypocrisy of the Tea Party today is breath-taking.
Oh no, we didn’t mean it when we painted a Hitler mustache on President Obama or portrayed him as The Joker from Batman. We didn’t mean it when we hung him in effigy or talked about “taking him out.” We didn’t mean it when we said there where “Death Panels,” in the legislation. We didn’t mean it when we said, “Second Amendment remedies.” We didn’t mean it when we said, “Don’t retreat, reload.” We didn’t mean it when we CARRIED GUNS TO WHERE THE PRESIDENT WAS SPEAKING! Don’t insult my intelligence by condemning this bloodshed today when you failed to condemn any out-of bounds remarks or despicable conduct or malicious lies for the last two years. Please.

Yeah, but we all know that these leftist gunslingers are the real deal, and history proves it.

If you read the comments you will see which side spews hatred-—liberals—every time this has happened the left has blamed the Tea Party and up until now it has always been their side-—
They always quote Palin, but they don’t quote Pres. Obama who said, if they bring sticks, then we will bring a gun.

Burning the US flag is characteristic of the tea partiers and Glenn Beck, right?

Well, the teabaggers did say that next time they’d come armed.
And Sharon Angle said that a “2nd Amendment Solution” might be appropriate if the ‘baggers lost the election - which they did.
And this is what happens when you give guns to violent, dim brained kooks and then tell them they’ll be heroes if the kill the people indicated by rifle sites on Sarah Palin’s SarahPac Poster.

Try telling the truth. That quote was from 2008 during the presidential campaign. It referred to President Obama vowing to fight the dirty smear tactics the Republicans used against past Democratic candidates.

When will some organization or individual file several $100 billion dollar lawsuits against FOX, Glen Beck, Disney, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, Inc., and other “American Taliban” organizations that incited this young, deranged person to violence?

It is time for individuals to look closely at Sarah Palin and understand that her every word and deed is self serving to promote her own interests. It is time to recognize that those who speak of God and the Lord in one breath and reject the principles of love expressed by Jesus in the other are far removed from any semblance of charity and goodwill.
All choices have consequence and when we cast stones as words and images activating hate and divisiveness in others, we practice everything but the Christian way of being.
Man’s first responsibility is to turn towards the kingdom of God and not to his neighbor with malice of intention. Anger does not serve God, whether in the guise of politics or living.
If all that we build is based upon gossip and judgment, whom do we honor with our thoughts, words and deeds? Certainly it is not the God who created us.
I ask you, did not Jesus turn the other cheek/ Why then would we honor politicians, who wear their beliefs like the feathers of a peacock while having no demonstration of charity in their heart.
Consider that there is always another viewpoint of any subject and self righteousness is never far from vanity. If we differ from our neighbor, it does not make him evil or give us right to incite riots and hate in those who follow us.
Sarah Palin, like most who benefit from the anger and dissatisfaction of others, serves not their heart when she speaks divisively in her unceasing self promotion, but rather activates the worst in them and confirms their right in holding it.
All who incited the ignorant to violence, who serve the lower nature of their followers, are vessels not for the love3 of God but for the passions of the mind.
Let us enter into silence and take stock of our careless words and images designed to cause effect. Are we here to remind each other of God and His sacred presence or to worship our viewpoint about one thing or another.
Let us remember the principle of wisdom. It is better to be in harmony with our heart and that of our neighbor than to be right. None who cast stones upon their neighbor or hold their opinion like a flag in their parade of vanity, march to the rhythm of the Holy Spirit but to their own need to be seen and heard.

In the past, before radio, and now, the digital age, when a person who has the media’s attention made a public statement, say in New York City, it didn’t reach the rest of the country until weeks, or even months later. Now, when a public official says something, no matter how trivial, it reaches everybody else in this country, including the world, instantaneously. It is not, so much, what is being said, but who is listening; which is, potentially, much, much more than the people in the room. Of course, this raises the odds of a psychopath or terrorist responding in an unfriendly manner. This is common sense. It is an unassailable fact that in order for Democracy to flourish we must have an educated society, which endows people with the ability to think critically and to filter out incendiary remarks a public official might make. This is why education is so important to sustain a true democracy. For without it, even the provocateur can attain the highest office.

It is shocking that the republicans use gun violence as a political card and then they express outrage when one of theirs does something like this..
What do the republicans expect. This is similar to when the republicans lured some Pennsylvania cops into an ambush.
Reload. Express your second amendment rights, you are in our crosshairs. Bill O’Reilly is not responsible in any way or is fox

It’s the Commie ,Pinko, Liberal scrap of bird cage liner called the Washington Post,Do you really expect any better?
It reminds me of what Beck has been saying. From the top down, bottom up and inside out.
Here is a classic example of how politically corrupt the MSM, including the Washington Post, really is...etc...
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
The main reason is I simply refusing to pay for the WaPost, so I receive the ‘e version’ and will continue to do so till they start charging...
TODAY’s Breaking News Headlines...
146PM Arizona Dem Rep shot at public event.
225PM Arizona Dem Rep killed at public event.
413PM Rep Giffords in Intensive Care, Doctor ‘optimistic’.
456PM Gunman ID...goes on to say he was 22 and a vet
759PM Gunman purchased Glock 19 Semi Auto legally, Nov 30 in Tucson AZ.
Now I can understand the confusion in releasing the ‘facts’ etc from the scene, but in the ‘race’ to be first we are subjected to more misinformation than is really necessary.
Bet CNN has been all over the ball park here....
Notice they make very little or NO attempt to correct the wrongs they report, just change the headline or streamer....

Depressing though things usually are these days, these moments of unintended humor seems to be lost on the radicals, the leftists and the knee-jerk brigade.
At first, Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and the Tea Party had induced conservative "extreme right wingers" to commit horrible violent acts.
But soon, when it is increasingly evident that the killer is an extreme left wing nut, the headlines change to "Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and the Tea Party have induced "radical progressive Left Wingers" to commit horrible violent acts.
The known losers have special powers; the can always have things both ways. Sort of like the Global Warmers.
The Left is about refusing and abusing gun rights.
The Right is about gun rights and responsibilities.
How does WAPO know that the judge wasn’t targeted??

I wish them way gione, but you must undestand that they now seize upon any tragedy to spin our nation towards instability and towards loberal fascism, inoking popular fear so that moret9otalitarian leftist controls will be accpeted by a spurred and fearful public.
Shame on them.It quickens my resolve to be rid of every politician and journalist who is a nothing but leftist mouth barrel.
