From the suicide of his mother when he was just thirteen, to his eventual alcoholism, depression, divorce, unemployment, and health scaresGlenn has weathered lifes darkest storms. Any one of those struggles couldve ruined him, yet Glenn was able to keep moving forward. He saw past the darkness into the light; past his grief and addictions and into what his life could be.
YOU CAN DO IT TOO
The process of finding happiness through personal redemption was not easy, but it left Glenn with a blueprint for how to confront future adversity. Glenn is living proof that these stepshe calls them wondersdont just work on paper. They helped transform his life and can they can help to transform yours as well.
THE 7 WONDERS
Glenn Beck and Dr. Keith Ablowtwo of the most popular and influential personalities in American media todayhave joined forces to present a powerful guide to personal transformation and fulfillment that is as unique as their own unlikely partnership. They are called the 7 Wonders and they can be used by anyone who has made the decision that they are ready to change their life.
After the television talk show host and the bestselling psychiatrist struck up a fast friendship they realized that their experiences with lifes struggles were complementary. What Keith had studied, Glenn had lived. What Keith had counseled patients on for years, Glenn had suffered through for decades.
The deeply personal insights they shared brought them to realize that their life stories had seven key principles in common; seven wonders that seemed to be essential ingredients for anyone attempting to transform their life.
Where does the courage to persevere come from when everything seems hopeless? Why is it nearly impossible to succeed with faith? How much do family and friendships matter in our journey? How do we break down our walls and reveal our inner truths? What does having compassion really mean? How do you tell real friends apart from those who are holding you back? If theres no one to blame for my past, what do you do with your anger and resentment?
These kinds of questions are the starting point toward fundamentally changing how you view past damaging relationships, toward breaking the debilitating grip of addiction and depression, toward injecting life with new meaning and purpose and toward helping you embark on a new journey based on hope, strength, and personal empowerment.
As you unwrap each of the seven wonders for yourself, youll discover exactly what Glenn Beck found as he transformed his own life from darkness to light, from dead ends to endless possibilities, from addiction to freedom: it doesnt take a superhero to find the strength to changeit just takes the courage to take the first step.
This book, which was only possible by combining together decades of personal struggle with world-class professional experience, can be that first step for you.
The 7 Wonders grows out of a unique friendship that weve developed over the last five-years. It is unique because it brought together a psychiatrist who naturally burrows toward the truth, and a recovering addict who spent decades running from it.
As we spent more time together we began to let our guards down. Over time we reached a level of honesty with each other that is rare. As a result, we learned that the principles that have guided the well-honed healing techniques of one of us are precisely the same principles that instinctively guided the other to replace nearly unbearable pain with genuine happiness.
We believe that it was Gods plan for us to meet; that it was Gods plan for us to speak so openly with one another; and it was Gods plan that we share with you the seven wonders we discovered together.
We also firmly believe that it was Gods plan that this book now finds you at this exact moment in your life.

Spoiler: #6 is Jerry Brown
The Seven Wonders:
1) I wonder if I should shave?
2) I wonder if I should hit that?
3) I wonder if she’d hit back?
4) I wonder if we’d find happiness hitting it?
5) I wonder why I’m asking these questions?
6) I wonder why they call it Wonder Bread?
7) I wonder if my wand wanders to Wanda?
I swore off self-help books in the seventies. I don’t see anything in this one to make me change my mind.
Yes, but Wanda is a fish, Laz.
Sounds like this is a good book, though.
I was surprised to see item #2 in your list - I thought ‘hitting it’ was a foregone conclusion for you. :=)
Since when does Free Republic run unpaid commericals for somebody’s book?
I’ve posted book excerpts before, as I’ve seen them.
I have no financial interest nor any relationship that would provide me with any remuneration from any Glenn Beck enterprise.
I have met the guy once, for about 10 seconds. That’s it. I thought people would be interested in learning about the book. That’s all.
I don’t see any difference between discussing a book and posting about a radio or television show that someone hosts.
If the mod & FR doesn’t want the thread, please delete.
was thinking the same thing: SPAM!!
Oops. SB ‘don’t’ not ‘doesn’t.’
I guess I have to buy the book to learn the 7 wonders. No thanks.

Coming in a close second!
You raise an interesting point. As a news aggregator, how is anything here on FR or Drudge or MSN, Google, etc., in posting news articles, not advertising?
To the extent that people blog discussions and post opinions back and forth, the comments are a written form of citizens band radio. Concept-based posts provide context.

Indeed but, unlike this particular article, I don’t need to spend any money to read the opinions/facts provided in the examples you listed (Drudge, MSN, etc.).
Problem I had here is that I specifically need to spend $$ to find out what Beck thinks are the “7 Wonders”...and that ain’t happening!!
THIS is why allah demands burkas, cause muzzies don’t have em like the top pic, rather more like the 2nd!!

Cults always say that. What else do they have??
I posted the book title as a point of discussion only. A previous poster mentioned that cults say such things, which is a valid statement. I have found that some people are also innocent and truthful in saying such things, too. intent is all.
I am old enough not to want to buy any more self-help books. But there are those at work who might be curious about this book or topic or who might want to know what book Beck is discussing, since he (and others) talk about so many.
I’d love to have a big library of all these books. However, I am too cheap and they take up too much space. I don’t want to shell out the $$ for a kindle, nor do I want the federales to track my reading purchases.

You forgot - Are those real or purchased?
I wonder, wonder wonder who wrote the book of love?
