NASHVILLE, Tenn. Two men walked into a packed east Nashville restaurant and robbed it at gunpoint, forcing 40 people to the ground.
Metro police said around 11 p.m. Wednesday, two men with what looked like pantyhose over their heads walked into the Holland House on West Eastland Avenue.
One of the suspects was holding a sawed off shotgun and the other had a handgun.
About 40 customers were forced onto the floor.
"When you have someone willing to come in and try and control 30 to 40 people in any type of setting, obviously there's a propensity for violence in those acts," Metro Police Capt. Chris Taylor said. "Just if by chance if they make a mistake, have their finger on the trigger and it goes off, the chances of somebody getting hurt are 10 fold."
The men stole some of the customers' items but focused mainly on the restaurant's money.
"The first thing that came to mind was, Are my neighbors OK, was my staff OK.' Thankfully everyone was," owner of Holland House Terrell Raley said.

>> No steak knives, and tables bolted to the floor there?
You’d have to suppress the two perps without anyone else getting injured for that to make sense.
LOL, when I read the headline, that picture was the first thing that popped into my mind.
The second picture was the guys in some movie (help me out here, I cannot recall the name) robbing a convenience store with pantyhose over their heads, but the legs drape down each side of their heads like ears...as they back out the door and turn around to run to the car, the guy turns and runs right into one of those iron pipe posts at crotch level...I thought it was “Repo Man”, but it has been so long since I have seen it...
I had the movie on the mind, because I just watched it again for the first time in years...classic, simply classic.
I know Tarantino is a idiot liberal turd, but...I like what I like.
Unleash the hounds. Wanna dance? Really? Let's dance.

Yeah, real nice huh? I’m just waiting for the next Luby’s massacre to occur because criminals use something like this to target their victims.
That movie might be Raising Arizona.
Yes, the location was once a low-end grocery and someone did put a lot of money into it. It looks nice and I’ve been told the food is very good, but everything to the west of it is literally crime-ridden, both to the north and the south. If they were just 2 blocks east of where they are, the odds of this happening would be dramatically lower. Now the “gentrified” folks from my side of the neighborhood won’t be going back, I suspect, and the food and prices are not likely to attract the other folks.
Besides, she's white. Not my kink.
But Laz, he's like Mikey. He's hit it like a tiny asteroid smashing into a gas giant at 35 kps.

Location, Location, Location. And you risk your life when you serve anything but breakfast (yay! money) and lunch.

That you may die waiting for the professionals doesn't bother the union members one little bit.
In a nation of free, responsible people, these two perps would have benn subdued, one way or another, under the combined responses of two dozen irate customers.
East Nashville is nothing but a Haven for Crack Dealers and Prostitutes protected by Mayor Karl Dean and District Attorney Torry Johnson. The Police Chief Ronal Serpas was running a protection racket for the drug dealers. Nashville Judge Tom W. Brothers was indicted for drug money laundering.

LOL...I think I had perhaps three movies mixed up at once...
Kind of like the Easter Bunny coming down the chimney to put eggs under your pillow...
I think you’re lumping all of East Nashville together in an inaccurate way. We have some great restaurants and night spots in very desireable neighborhoods. It starts getting real rough, though, between McFerrin Ave. and Dickerson Rd. That’s where “ghetto” begins and this place is on the corner of McFerrin and W. Eastland.
Jules, if you give this nimrod fifteen hundred buck, I'm gonna shoot 'em on general principle.
