The 'Birthers' Persist
Hartford Courant ^ | 12-31-10

President Obama Hawaii's new governor says he'll straighten it all out. Who's he kidding?

Mr. Abercrombie is wasting his time. The truth is no match for the birthers' zealotry, the depth of their twisted contempt for the president, their ceaseless efforts over the past two years to delegitimize him because down deep they believe Mr. Obama or anyone of his racial makeup does not deserve to be president of the United States.

A national vetting process of some sort of high-office candidates would be one part of what I call a Voters' Bill of Rights".

Our political system is basically broken. What is needed, obviously and painfully, is a voters' bill of rights and the first item of such a bill HAS TO BE runoff elections or instant runoff elections for all public offices.

Nobody should ever fear to vote his first choice, at least on a first ballot, and nobody should ever hold any public office with less than 50% of the vote.

There should also be a None-Of-Above choice on all ballots for public office and if that choice ever wins, then the other candidates should be barred for life from holding any public office and the parties sponsoring them should be barred for at least ten years from sponsoring candidates for that particular office. The penalty for running dead wood for public offices should be severe.

Likewise a candidate for any substantially high office should require at least the same minimal secret clearance which you'd have to have to be a guard at the gate of any US military base. Basically some minimal national vetting process; that would have prevented the last two democrat presidents from holding any national office.

Another item on such a voters' bill of rights should be something which would eliminate voting fraud for all time and if that means getting rid of the secret ballot or at least limiting it somehow or other, so be it, we're paying too high a price for it. Somehow or other it has to be possible to check up on votes when there are questions or evidence of fraud.

Or when an election is within one or two percentage points, send both people to congress with half of a vote each. That would at least end the cheating and stolen elections. You could end the DISENFRANCHISEMENT altogether by making that the general rule. In other words if Pubbie John and Dem Jane get 60 and 40 percent of the vote respectively, send them to Washington with .6 and .4 of the vote for that seat. They'd probably still vote similarly on state interest issues and could then split 60/40 on ideological issues.

In fact, it's not even they need to be living or working inside the D.C. beltway any more. Everybody else is working remotely these days... At least, they couldn't possibly require offices in D.C. nor being there more than a week out of the month. This idea of there being a political "class" in the United States needs to go.

One last item on such a list would be a provision that when a president is impeached and removed, his VP goes out the door with him and the office is either vacant until the next election or an emergency election is held to fill the office for the remainder of the current term. Granted removing a president should be difficult but it should not be impossible and if we couldn't remove Slick, we'd not have been able to remove Hitler or Nero either.

What happened in 98/99 was that Trent Lott simply refused to hand the presidency over to Algor with a year to go on Slick's second term, for obvious reasons. The situation should not be possible.

There are a few other things you'd want but that's the main gist of it. There is also a question as to the extent the people should be voting on issues directly since we now have the technology to allow that while the founding fathers did not. You could get some of these evil social issues settled once and for all and out of politics, and you could limit the scope for corruption and bribery by letting the people themselves settle at least some kinds of issues.

“he’s only traitorous if he actually is a US citizen.”

Ah, but a sitting US senator assured me that we, the voters, determined that by voting for him for president.

Evidence doesn’t matter once the people have spoken. Works just like jury nullification.

At least that was HIS explanation. Given shortly before he quit his job.

One very possible reason is that the long form on the birth certificate reveals his whole backstory to be a lie.

What could be on it????

Who knows.

I am guessing it could show his mother to be an unwed mother and father unknown.

I think it is possible that he was born in Canada. The story of being born in Hawaii and then shortly flying to Washington doesn’t make sense.

Given the way the commie acted - she would have been more likely to leave the kid with the grandparents than fly from Hawaii to Washington with him.

The LameStream Media's cover-up on Barry's records is ludicrous to the point of hilarity.

Only a few years back you would hear them wailing that this candidate has the duty to release his tax records, this one his medical records, and the other one to prove he had placed his finances in a blind trust. Because the “public has the right to know”.

Now that Barry has been immaculated, they have absolutely no interest in his records.

And want to taunt anyone who asks about his records as a “birther”.

But despite their valiant efforts to cover for the False One, millions of Americans have a healthy suspicion that someone who is unwilling to make public a certified, complete, long form birth certificate while spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on blocking its release, has something to hide. And why wouldn't they?

The birthers will just say that the released document is a fake, proved by the fact that at this very moment, Øbama is in Honolulu — no doubt to conspire in a fogery action with relevant state officials.

And you have fallen for the left's carefully scripted premise. Why do they NEVER mention that it doesn't matter where he was born as he's NOT NBC. They focus ONLY on where he was born.

http://thesteadydrip.blogspot.com/2010/07/taking-aka-obama-directly-before-scotus.html

“We the People” respectfully request that the Barack Hussein Obama stipulate to the fact that the Supreme Court of the United States has original jurisdiction over all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls; or, in the alternative, that Barack Hussein Obama show good cause why the Supreme Court of the United States shall not have original jurisdiction

Something is going on, not sure what, but for this to resurface with such a vengenace now, by Democrats, is remarkable. I think some one is ready to squeal.

Are you talking about Obama who was born in 1961? How can he be another burned out 60’s liberal when he was 9 when the 60’s were over?

I'm not so sure the left wants the long form birth certificate issue to go away. Notice, the people of prominence speaking about the issue recently have been very much men of the left (Chris Mathews and Gov. Abercrombie).

It's become an effective means of rallying Obamiacs and if the BC is revealed and contains any "moderately to somewhat" embarrassing information, the longer this is drawn out the more it could help him play the victim card (i.e. My mom was a young unwed mother and I was trying to protect her reputation...)

Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961. Or are you saying that he is lying about his birthday and he is actually 60? I mean nothing can surprise me about him but I don’t think he is 60. lol.

... having seen the president's birth certificate ... as so many have ...

The newspaper lies. I am certain that no one at the Hartford Currant has seen the President's true birth certificate.
