BALTIMORE (AP) -- A person with knowledge of a federal campaign-finance investigation says a criminal probe has been opened into whether Delaware Republican Christine O'Donnell broke the law by using campaign money to pay personal expenses.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity to protect the identity of a client who has been questioned in the probe.

They see her as dead meat and easy prey because the GOP hated her and abandoned her. This is to teach a lesson to us folks on the Tea Party side.
However, this is part of a bigger thing. The Dems don’t care about Rangel and his misdeeds, but they will spend a million dollars on an audit of Republicans to find a fifty cent error.
When I worked on the Bush campaign in Florida, one of the things we had to contend with was virtually daily audits and threats from the Federal government (under Clinton at that time) carried forward by a local Democrat “activist” with the cooperation of the local press, which of course was a New York Times paper.
Unfortunately, this works, and by the end of it all we could accept virtually no donations and people were even scared to give us any.
LOL, I was looking that up on Youtube while you posted it.
“She turned me into a newt!”
“A NEWT?!”
“It got better.”
What about all the campaign donations Obama received from FOREIGN sources, including the Middle East, during the 2008 campaign?
I’m sure that Eric Holder will start an investigation any day now.....do I hear the sound of crickets?
That comment alone should get this thread over 150 posts.
LOL.I was going to say the same thing.
“napscoordinater” is one the handful of self-impressed stealth lib posters that pops up periodically to correct us troglodytes with an enlightened, contrarian ,invariably left-leaning perspective.
The law I assume:

Would it be a violation if she used her own money to get started and then reimbursed herself those funds?
you are correct and it is legal for the campaign to pay the candidate a salary that does not exceed the candidates earnings for the previos year... part of Christine’s problem is that she made less than $6,000 the year before the campaign.
Prediction: she will negotiate a sttlement, pay the fine with campaign funds and blame the Treasurers (she had 4 or 5).
Yes, it is. Nobody found anything fishy in his filings. I didn't--did you? (Yeah, like you really looked at them!)
But people did find fishy things in her campaigns'. I'm not talking about the repeated citations for failing to file, though they are part of the pattern of ignoring the law. I'm talking about the actual complaint filed to the government, which the government is now investigating.
So...did you file one against Chris Coons, so the government can investigate that allegation? If not, then who did? If nobody did, then what the heck are you claiming they should investigate?
Do tell, gifted prodigy.
Now, regarding the complaint against her, like I said, I'm not an accountant...but I do think they overcalculated the total they claimed. There are some records of her paying back some of the money--but only some. Still, I haven't looked through in depth.
Whaddaya mean they haven't started one?
This is the same DOJ that finds Charlie Rangel’s four different rent-controlled “campaign offices” in New York City just fine and dandy.
Not alot of detail in the story. It reminds me of complaints about Palin. Stuff about campaign funds being used to buy her outfits.
I’m not on the Palin train just yet; but, I think I see what happens to the Palins and O’Donnells of the world:
“What, you don’t have enormous family wealth?...and you haven’t abused public office to accumulate your own fortune? You’re Reaaaaally too poor to buy dozens of new outfits? Well, you can’t be in the club”
BTW, doesn’t Al Sharpton run for president every time, just so he can pay himself a salary?
Why shouldn’t there be a probe of Coons?
And what complaint was filed against O’Donnell? Oh, yeah. CREW.
No connection there to loony Left.
Sit back and enjoy the “Witch” hunt, Gondring.

WILMINGTON, Del. An ethics group has included the failed U.S. Senate campaign of Christine ODonnell in its “Top 10 Ethics Scandals of 2010.”
The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington on Tuesday called the Republican tea party candidates use of donated funds “Magic Money.” It repeated a claim in an affidavit from her former campaign manager that she used donations for “rent, meals and gas, and even a bowling outing.”
Her spokesman, Matthew Moran, says the groups report is groundless.

Why are you not supporting her naps?
Are you RomneyBOTs in Italy behind this?
Is it another of the RomneyWINGs dirty tricks, nap?
All Christian are immoral, otherwise we would be God.
She's part of a protected "minority".
O’Donnell isn’t particularly a threat to anyone anymore.
What this accusation is, is no different than what she was accused of prior to the 2010 elections.
Have we checked into Coons yet?
