It's Christmas Eve, so let's treat ourselves to something conservative political junkies enjoy: handicapping the 2012 Republican field.
On the Fox News Special Report this evening, panelists Stephen Hayes and Charles Krauthammer both singled out Mitch Daniels as a man to watch. Hayes identifed the Indiana gov as perhaps the true Tea Party candidatesomeone willing to speak the hard truths about the need for entitlement reform. The ever-interesting Krauthammer found Daniels' lack of charisma appealing--as an antidote to our overdose of hope-and-change.

I will crawl over broken glass to vote for Sarah!!!
Same here.
The man is operated from K street even in Indiana. SOB even signed an agreement not to spend any money on roads close to the toll road and wanted to toll the road around the capital. Up until he lost the republican house for his toll road BS.
Don't tell me you're actually buying that illogical bunk from this effete snob. People will always follow a leader with passion and charisma. As it ever was...
Remind me again why we are declaring Krauthammer 'so intelligent?'
I actually don't see him that way. If he were intelligent, he would do something useful!
“...while he is an M.D he is actually a psychiatrist; a shrink! That frosted it for me!”
***************************************
A psychiatrist IS a M.D. who specializes in mental disorders.
“Up until he lost the republican house for his toll road BS.”
Interesting - are you saying that the Reps lost control of the House for this highway sellout? I don’t follow internal Indiana politics, but it wouldn’t surprise me if that were the case, especially with me being a Texan.
Respectfully, you are way off on your understanding of the Presidential calendar.
The first election of the 2012 GOP primary is in Jan of 2012, approximately one year from today. The contest will most likely be over by super Tuesday or shortly thereafter - that is April 2012, only 15 months from now.
To win by April of 2012 candidates will have to announce in the next six months, at the latest.
Mitt Romney announced on Feb 7, 2007.
John McCain announced on Apri 25 2007.
So, the equivilent for 2012 would be Palin. Huckster, Pence, Paul and Pawlenty announcing sometime in the next 2 to 4 months.
Romney endedhis campaign on Feb. 7, 2008, because he had lost.
Most of the action will be over in only a little bit more than a year from now.
Given that I must disagree that with your statement: It is stupefyingly dumb to go to the mat for this candidate or the other this far away from an election. It might be a few months early to be 'going to the mat', but it's about the right time to be helping out if you want to play a major role in a candidate's run. By April 30 I believe we will know who all the players are. The first debate in 2007 was on May 8. (IE: about four months from today if moved to the 2012 contest).
Yes BfloGuy, it really is that time again, already.
There are virtually no conservatives at FNC - neocons and RINOs - Hayes, Krystal, Barnes, Rove, Perino,Krathammer, Morris, BORe, Nicole Wallace, etc.
The only conservatives are Palin and Hannity and Sean is dumber than a brick.
I forgot the Huckster - the biggest fraud of all.
“I believe Gregg is conservative (but I could be wrong).”
You are wrong, but I hope he runs to split the Romney vote.
LOLOLOL. Rove’s pic and that VW bus of yours cracks me up every time I see it. The pic of Charles is excellent, too!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Those are all good points, I agree with. But don’t you think we need first to do something about our international standing in the world before we are crushed?
“Yes, before his second term, they thought he was a cooked goose, but he pull the obamma comeback BS and got reelected, claiming he had seen the light.”
Yuck. The fact that he got snowed that easily, just as our Texas governor had also, simply means that they are not competent to advance to higher office (and, for that matter, shouldn’t even be in power). It’s a no-brainer that giving a private company a monopoly without any price controls simple CANNOT WORK - whether it’s a highway, or delivery of electricity to private homes. It’s a shame that politicians have to ‘discover’ this fact.
if she is the candidate, repubs lose 2012
You are dead on in your opinions. %100 we loose is she is the candidate.
...also, I even started voting Democrat at the state level (but never federal level), simply because Perry and the other Republicans simply didn’t seem to be able to ‘get it’ when it came to controlling our highways. And I wasn’t alone - as the Dems came very close to taking over the state House (they’ve since been decimated). But even given Perry’s STUPIDITY - we still have Obama, so I (finally) did come home last year.
I think they all want to keep the gravy...and they’re fighting against the tide.
Newt is old news..Sarah is a statesman..not from DC..etc..Sorry you don’t like her but 3 votes here for her and I am working on more..I will vote for her with my cold dead hands if I have to..
