This picture shows Hitler eating with Luftwaffe NCOs.

“President Obama and the First Family were planning a “non-religious Christmas,””

A non-religious Christmas is no Christmas at all. It might as well be Aunt Betty’s birthday party, a family reunion, or a winter cook-out. There is no point to Christmas outside of Christ. None.

I’ve frankly considered tossing all non-religious references to Christmas from my house.

On the other hand Germans aren’t exactly famous for letting their hair down.

Depends on just who you're talking about. There are regional variations there just as here. Bavarians by and large know how to have fun. Prussians, not so much.

One just does not understand the evil that is Naziism. One of the most cultured countries of Europe, with a strong tradition of Christianity, rich, smart, forward thinking. How did they fall so low?

Treaty of Versailles, Weimar Republic with literal hyperinflation and widespread destitution. They were ripe for a demagogue and man, did they ever get one.

Charismatic leader (why I've never been able to decipher but it's apparently true), socialism on crack combined with nationalism on meth, with old "folkish" beliefs elevated and combined with occultism intent on co-opting hated Christianity in an effort to control those same "folk." Throw in a scapegoat for an "external" object of rage, and there you go.

We shouldn't feel too smug and superior, something similar could happen here. All the ingredients are already present on the left. Guess who'll be scapegoated if and when it hits the fan?

The Waffen SS were the elite fighting units of the military forces. They got the best officers, best recruits, and best equipment.

Certainly the Waffen-SS were elite. They certainly considered themselves such. But I don't think that the General Staff of the German Army held their officers in very high esteem at the outset. Eventually the SS were training their own officers which is what the pictures are showing. Guessing that the old "Brownshirt" uniform was adapted for SS officer-cadets.

No argument on the equipment side... the Waffen-SS got the lion's share of the latest gear.

Amazing photographs - the quality of the color impossible to obtain today. That type of film no longer exists.

It was based on pagan-idolatry and was thusly laid low by the one true God.

I take the questions in your post as a challenge.

Yes, they were freaks. I do think, however, the communists and the moslems can come very close to them in term of evil intent and viciousness.

I can give you dozens of examples of communist and islamic actions that rival those of the nazis. One interesting similarity is that all three philosophies share a singular hatred of the Jews.

How did they fall so low? We in the anglosphere have the advantage of literally centuries of enlightened thought and government. Democracy and freedom have been practiced and refined in the English speaking world for a long time, they are virtually taken for granted now. Add the fact that the nations of the anglosphere have been on the winning side of every major conflict since they last fought each other in 1814.

This is not the case in other countries. Germany in 1919 was a defeated country. Cultured, perhaps. Modern, yes. But until 1919, it was a monarchy. The end of the first war forced a type of democracy on the country that it clearly was not ready for. It did not have a centuries long or even a decades long tradition of democracy.

The resulting depression and inflation sucked all the wealth and life out of the country. The people didn't believe in "democracy" any more. They craved a new leader, a new strong man to take care of things. They didn't care how it happened, they just wanted somebody to make things better.

We all know what did happen, the "strong" man arose. He was a man who could rouse a crowd or a nation with his stirring speeches. Does that sound familiar? In the end, of course, all he gave Germany was disaster and empty words. Does that sound familiar?

Not making excuses, just offering an explanation. And a parallel.

Hitler "urged Germans to celebrate the season as a holiday of the ‘winter solstice’, rather than Christmas."

And in Waterbury, CT, students have been told to say, “Happy Winter,” instead of “Merry Christmas.”

That's very interesting, I had always read that they were eradicated. Do you know of any books that talk about their Panzerkorps and/or other regiments?

That's a gap in my library, unfortuately. I found that information from a Kriegsgliderung (order of battle), but information on the feldherrnhalle can be found at axishistory.com among other places.

I haven’t checked the photos out yet, but do they resemble this Congress and their Fuhrer celebrating their Lame Duck attack on We The People??? Just wondering.

Yes, and all three are evil systems that are puppets on the string of Lucifer. I really believe that.

Today, we have fascism creeping away in own nation. Tom Ridge isn't the head of the Dept of Homeland Security anymore.

And look what is happening.

My final ever party was just after Obama got elected. Several effete, gay professors where laughing it up about how the time had come to lock up all the conservatives. They were quite jovial. As I recall somebody threw out, “Hell, gas ‘em all. Hitler had the right idea.” I nodded at the host and slipped out the door. He called me on the way to my car and asked why I was leaving. I told him. He said, “They can’t hurt you!” I said, “They voted.”

The greatest deception ever achieved by leftism in the post WW II world was to propagate the "Big Lie" that National SOCIALISM was a Conservative Christian ideology.

This was a deliberate lie that was repeated over, and over, and over, and over again by the left and their allies.

It was a lie that HAD to succeed, because Evil had shown the world its hand, and when Nazism was defeated, the left had to point the finger of blame at someone other than itself.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer's blood, a Christian pastor who stood up to Hitler, cries up from the ground the same way that Abel's blood did.

Just look at us. We elected Obama and he is very similar to Hitler. The difference is there is enough of us to stop him and we have the history of the Nazi to guide us in doing so.

Not true. The SA existed until the end of the war and had its own armed detachments, known as Feldherrenhalle. They existed in regimental form through 1940 and comprised a Panzerkorps of the same name in 1945. It is quite true, however, that the influence of the SA declined sharply after the purge of 1934.

You know your stuff.

Also, for the second year in a row, the Obamas will not be attending worship services during Christmas.

I'll bet the bastard never misses Ramadan though.
