“President Obama and the First Family were planning a “non-religious Christmas,””

A non-religious Christmas is no Christmas at all. It might as well be Aunt Betty’s birthday party, a family reunion, or a winter cook-out. There is no point to Christmas outside of Christ. None.

I’ve frankly considered tossing all non-religious references to Christmas from my house.

Interesting thread

I’ve frankly considered tossing all non-religious references to Christmas from my house.

I basically did that this year, except for one small 18" Christmas Tree that the pets like! They are attracted to the swirling LEDs! I figure that celebrating elements of secular xmas is still OK for the animals!

We will move a few more tasteful secular decorations back in coming years -- but the emphasis will always be on the religious Christmas.

I have a bit of a panic right now because the nice carved figures of a Nativity Scene have gone missing in storage! For various reasons I didn't get to it earlier. Have to don the parka and mittens and go upend the shed looking for it. Just a few hours left! Pray for me!
