Republicans poised to take power in Congress are planning a rapid attack against a climate change initiative the Obama administration wants to launch on January 2, according to members of the Senate and House of Representatives.
Their resolve could harden further after President Barack Obama's Environmental Protection Agency announces a second layer of regulation, possibly as early as Thursday, ratcheting up Washington's fight against global warming.
"I think we ought to start with a two-year pause" in upcoming U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations, said Representative Mike Simpson, the Republican who is expected to head a House panel that controls EPA's budget.

I like your idea.
RINOs have other plans. They want you to support them for suspending it for two years and hope that you will forget about it after a couple of years.
About Friggin’ time (if its true and we can get the 2 Maine Witches, the Mass-of-2-$h!ts ‘ tea party’ guy, the SC Faggot and the alaskan 3rd party girl to go along....)
I’ll hold my breath waiting for the Reuters headlines about the Democrats “plotting the death” of innocent babies in the womb and the elderly in nursing homes and hospitals.
We all know the Dems are plotting the death of the USA.
That is what should happen. However, with the coming Republican leadership in Congress, I don't expect much to happen that will give us hope. The minute the press starts bearing down upon Boehner and others, the Republicans will back down. Of course, the Tea Party members of Congress may raise hell, but they will be portrayed as "nuts" and as a result, some of them will back down in order to get along.
I don't have much hope that the necessary bold action to take our Republic back towards Liberty can happen before 2013.
Dems want to give more taxpayers money to kill unborn children and the title is:
“democrats increase funding for womens healthcare”
Republicans want to keep the EPA’s new rules from driving up consumer costs and the title is;
‘republicans plot death!”
Oh F'ing goody gum drop, Mitch McConnell gets to lead another charge. Victory is ours. (/sarcasm).
That’s true, but we don’t hear that sort of rhetoric from the media when describing anything the Dems are doing.
They should start by passing a law that declares the EPA retroactively Unconstitutional from its inception, and declaring all its action null and void—retroactively, and eliminating any immunity from prosecution or civil suit anyone ever involved in the agencies Unconstitutional actions.
The EPA the Dept of Miseducation -— most of those departments must be shut down along with the real power - the bureacrazis who run them.
“how about disolving the EPA?”
Since air and to some extent water are unavoidably common property that need public management, we actually do need some sort of EPA. It should always have been a minor bureau under the department of interior, not an independent monster.
Now the FDA we could entirely live without. Private enterprise would quickly come up with companies similar to Underwriters Laboratory that would do a much better job for much less money and with much more freedom for choice and innovation. The FDA should definitely be abolished!
Don’t get your hopes up. I am sure that there is a Repub someplace in the mix that can come up with a good compromise.
The majority of republicans are supported by big oil companies. The majority of democrats are supported by tree hugging hippies.
Both parties want what is required to keep their donors support. Thus the battle over the air we breathe rages on!
“Since air and to some extent water are unavoidably common property that need public management, we actually do need some sort of EPA.”
No we don’t. Pollution and dumping garbage is covered under nuisance and trespass in common law. It was used effectively in the 19th century.
Wow...there's some tough talk!
