The New START treaty has just passed the Senate, 71 to 26. The treaty needed 67 votes for ratification.

Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), Bob Bennett (Utah), Scott Brown (Mass.), Thad Cochran (Miss.), Susan Collins (Maine), Bob Corker (Tenn.), Judd Gregg (N.H.), Johnny Isakson (Georgia), Mike Johanns (Nebraska), Richard Lugar (Indiana), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Olympia Snowe (Maine), and George Voinovich (Ohio).

Even the National Review doesn't understand the Constitution.
Article II, Section 2, clause 2 of the Constitution says,
That it does not require two-thirds of the full Senate is one of the Constitution's greatest flaws. In fact, I would like to see it be 3/4 of the full Senate, similar to ratifying an amendment.
In the first week of November there was a Tsunami that swept Dems out in record numbers. Since then, either its Thanksgiving or Christmas or shopping, or football or New Years but the urgency has gone away and while we were distracted, they have racked up victory after victory. They have grabbed momentum.
The only thing that they failed to get that they wanted was Dream Act and if the GOP gets spooked rather then mad, they may get Dream in the next congress.

I just called his office to complain, I was pissed and tried to be nice but I did say I thought his vote on START was treasonous. The guy, John, said he would pass on my complaint. I also said I would work to get him defeated.
When the new Congress is seated, Dream Act is dead. It won’t even make it to the House floor.
Usual RINO suspects as well I see a name voted out in November’s election that shouldn’t be allowed to vote lame duck IMO. Bennett.

The sad fact is that many Nebraskans buy into his “conservative” act. The Town Hall meetings he puts on are just that—a “put on.” A choreographed production, where he controls who gets to speak, about what subject, and for how long... 1 minute!
That is your “representative” government folks! You get 60 seconds to question your representative, face to face—and no follow up is allowed. Oh, you might be given a “chance,” near the end of the show, to ask that second question (how dare you ask me another question, peasant!), but that is doubtful... especially if they know you are educated on the subject and not buying their bucket of horse sh*t.
All these two-faced creeps care about is moving their dog and pony show to the next venue. They do not make time to really LISTEN to what is being asked... They really do not give a rat’s ass either.
