ROME — Italian news reports say an explosive device has been found in a subway car in Rome.
The ANSA and Apcom news agency said the device was found Tuesday inside a train during a stop in Rebibbia, on the outskirts of Rome.
ANSA cited a press release by the Atac company that runs the subway. Nobody was immediately available at Atac.
The area was cleared and bomb disposal experts were examining the device, according to the reports.
Apcom said the device had been left in a grocery bag underneath a seat, and was spotted by the conductor in the morning.

I didn’t know Rome had a subway. Been twice and never noticed. Guess I was focussed on all above ground. Boy do I feel clueless. Though Rome is beautiful, above ground is very dirty...can only imagine the state of underground. Maybe that is why the tour companies avoid it.
No wonder the left likes mass transportation so much - it’s easier to kill people when they’re all huddled together in a stink subway car.
Hope there aren’t any others - the people of Italy certainly don’t need this.

Rome has a great subway system. You have to watch out for pickpockets on it, but then, you have to do that all over Rome.
I hope they’re checking all the trains right now. If this really is an explosive device, I’d doubt it was the only one.
