No matter who says it, “comprehensive immigration reform” is code for AMNESTY!!!!
...never means really control the border. Doing that is always dismissed by advocates of "CIR" as impossible.
Nothing could be truer. But Graham has his own code, as well.
Our base is all riled up that this is amnesty...
Which is code for "Our bigoted base is too stupid to recognize that it's not amnesty...really...only kinda amnesty...in some cases...and we've got to trick 'em into thinking it's something else."
Turd.
The only ‘reform’ most of us want to see on immigration is for the illegals to be put back south of the border & kept there. A serious fence built & manned appropriately.
Reform their ability to attend school.
Reform their ability to get welfare , Food Stamps, free school lunches & other social benefits.
Reform their ability to get any kind of health care-—even the kind that is common in Oakland every night of the week.
THAT is the beginning of reform, IMO.
“He said the DREAM Act effort will make it harder to bridge divides on immigration, noting the impassioned advocacy on both sides of the issue.”
As far as I am concerned that divide will never be bridged. McCain and Graham area lower forms of life. Career, corrupt, self-serving parasites.
Republicans under George W. Bush betrayed the American people by attempting to force amnesty for millions of illegal aliens on the people. McCain had Juan Hernandez working on his presidential campaign. Hernandez was a member of the government of Vincente Fox Hernandez encourages all Mexicans who have become American citizens to retain dual citizenship and vote here and in Mexico.
I called McCain HQ and asked a young woman staffer whether Hernandez was working on the McCain campaign. The brain dead little idiot informed me that she was tired of people calling and asking that question.
She indignantly said that Hernandez was not a PAID member of the staff. She went on to say that they would take help anywhere they could get it. This is the caliber of people who are involved in politics in today’s America. I guess she is a product of the public schools.
Actually, there is a need for comprehensive immigration reform. Things will never get better otherwise. But it’s got to be immigration reform that favors the US and doesn’t have put anybody else’s interests ahead of ours.
I’d be happy to legalize lots of Latin Americans (who actually do work and are no different from all the other poor immigrant groups - Irish, Italians, Germans and Eastern European Jews - who arrived here, learned English in the second generation, and rose to the top by the third generation) in exchange for having no more Muslim immigrants, ever, and immediately kicking out any Muslim visa overstayer, any Muslim on welfare or any Muslim who has gotten here under “family reunion.”
But I’m willing to bet that what we’ll get will be something that will kick out the Latin Americans and bring in more Muslims. Mark my words.
That might make some Freepers (who hate Latin Americans) happy, but it’s going to destroy our country. Latin Americans don’t want to change the US, but Muslims do. Yet I’m willing to bet that they’re what the Dems and the RINOs are going to bring us.
