Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin continues to be a highly polarizing figure, with a whopping 57 percent viewing her unfavorably according to a new poll.
The Bloomberg survey, released Monday, also found that the negative feelings about Palin are particularly strong. A third -- 33 percent -- said they view Palin "very unfavorably." That's the same percentage that viewed her favorably cumulatively -- respondents who either viewed her "somewhat" or "very" favorably (!).
The survey results indicate that Palin faces a significant image problem as she decides to run for president.
Just look at how Pres. Obama's numbers compare. Obama scored a net negative job approval rating -- 48 percent said they disapprove of his performance as president while 47 percent approved, which is in line with other polls and shows the Bloomberg survey isn't a particularly good poll for the president. However, 52 percent view Obama favorably while 44 percent view him unfavorably.
More troubling for Palin is that it may be tough for her to change that perception. Only 10 percent are unsure of their opinion of her.

Yes, curse those 57%; if we could only get rid of them, things would work out fine. /sarc
Clearly, the problem is letting people do polls. We need to stop all this polling for opinions — because to paraphrase another freeper from earlier today, if we don’t know what people think, it will be like they aren’t thinking it.

The Republican Party 43 48
The Democratic Party 48 43
The Tea Party 37 41
Seems like they polled alot more dems than reps or teapartiers.
Maybe this poll is not even real. This could just be another attempt to throw off (potential primary) supporters onto someone else. Could another potential candidate be behind this ?
When is she announcing anyway?
what the hell does that mean?
Hey let’s poll a vast majority of dems and see what they think about Palin and then present it as “truth” of the entire population to push our narrative....who looks at internals anyhow. its the headline we want....
Means that I do not think Palin is POTUS ready...
Most polls at this point will be relatively meaningless, because they don’t even try to figure out who is likely to vote 2 years from now.
That’s true whether you hate what the poll says, or you like what the poll says.
This doesn’t surprise me. After all, the people who watch ABC/CBS/NBC and other liberal-controlled outlets get non-stop negative reporting on her.
Thanks for sharing your opinion, I do not agree with it, but I respect it.
True that. I hope that a real conservative wins the next election, and if it’s not Sarah, makes her the Secretary of Energy. I think that that would still be quite sufficient to make the moonbats heads explode.
Stupid New Yorkers may put up with his degenerate bullcrap dictatorship, but it aint playing in the REAL USA.
In January 1991, pretty much nobody was seriously telling the pollsters they wanted a Democrat for their next president. In January 1993, Bill Clinton was getting sworn in. A lot can happen in two years.
You need to do another vanity before it’s too late.
Does anyone seriously believe that Obama will get anywhere near the votes in 2012 that he got in 2008?
Does anyone seriously believe that Sarah Palin will get less votes than the McCain/Palin ticket got in 2008?
If she can win the nomination then all she has to do is carry the 2008 total and grab a minimal percentage of the independent voters to work the EC and get to 270. It's not beyond her capabilities to do that by any stretch.
She needs to focus on winning the same states as 2008 and flipping some states like FL, IN, CO, IA, NV, NM, OH and VA. This is not an insurmountable goal.
You are dead on except for one thing. I believe she could flip PA. Nobody like Obummer and Casey is up again and is not well liked. We have a full array of GOP leaders running things now. I think Rat turnout could be suppressed enough to win easily.
I see McCain really worked too. Now why should conservatives waste their vote on McCain/Romney types? Voting for RINOs accomplishes ... what? If the GOP runs RINOs again for the presidency I'm finished with them. It's time for a new, conservative party to replace them. Let the RINOs become the third party of perpetual losers.
Maybe that 57% won't vote. Maybe it will rain on election day and only we will show up to vote. We need to have faith. Sa-rah, Sa-rah.
The Bloomberg survey, released Monday, (and covering NYC?)
The truth of the matter is, Sarah has been working a brilliant strategy to perfection. This past year was all about reintroducing herself and her family to America.
Now she will turn to serious policy issues and continue to draw a sharp contrast with Obama and what her administration would do.
She will win the nomination in a cakewalk and the White House in a landslide.
It is going to be fun to watch.
