Poll: 57 Percent View Palin Unfavorably
National Journal ^ | 12/14/10 | Jeremy P. Jacobs

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin continues to be a highly polarizing figure, with a whopping 57 percent viewing her unfavorably according to a new poll.

The Bloomberg survey, released Monday, also found that the negative feelings about Palin are particularly strong. A third -- 33 percent -- said they view Palin "very unfavorably." That's the same percentage that viewed her favorably cumulatively -- respondents who either viewed her "somewhat" or "very" favorably (!).

The survey results indicate that Palin faces a significant image problem as she decides to run for president.

Just look at how Pres. Obama's numbers compare. Obama scored a net negative job approval rating -- 48 percent said they disapprove of his performance as president while 47 percent approved, which is in line with other polls and shows the Bloomberg survey isn't a particularly good poll for the president. However, 52 percent view Obama favorably while 44 percent view him unfavorably.

More troubling for Palin is that it may be tough for her to change that perception. Only 10 percent are unsure of their opinion of her.

the media knows that Sarah is a HUGE threat to the left..that is why they have been smearing her since the beginning. All this poll proves is that there are people dumb enough to believe all of the lies the media tells them, like sheep..its unfortunate but true. People still believe the media, even though no one trusts them, they still believe them

Umm...the country? Which, you'll notice, is an extremely different population from, say, Free Republic.

Bloomberg does a poll and you soak it up like a milksop.

Don’t worry about it. The poll is hogwash.

So, we have almost two years to educate the ignorant Palin haters on the Constitution and the things that they attribute to Governor Palin that Tina Fey actually said.

Hey, this is great news!

Remember Hillary’s negatives before she was in the Senate?

Now even the republicans would sweep her in if it meant getting rid of Obama.

There's something about a woman who doesn't abort her own children that drives the libs absolutely insane, and they make no effort to hide their rage. I really love how she drives the moonbats crazy.

But our disgraceful national news media destroyed her once already in 2008, and I am not looking forward to the sequel if she becomes the GOP nominee.

For liberals, its her policies..for some women, its the fact that she is Pro-Life(leftist women love abortion) for some on the right..not sure..some just don’t agree with her on certain issues, which is fine by me. We can all agree to disagree..but its the hate that I don’t get..not agreeing with her and hating her to me are two different things. From what I have seen and heard from so many who have met her, she is a wonderful person, genuine, not a phony bone in her body, yet still she is hated. Maybe it’s jealousy who knows

They are going after her with everything they have.

Yes, they are. They are absolutely terrified of this woman, and I think the reason it's inexplicable is that it isn't entirely sane. Fascinating thing to watch, actually, especially when you consider "whom the gods would destroy they first make mad."

I can tell you this much: disapproval turns to approval much more quickly than indifference does, especially in the face of this blast furnace of insane hatred. If she articulates her positions and sticks to them, the haters are done.

you need to read the internals and it will explain the results:

In politics as of today, do you consider yourself a Republican, Democrat, or independent?
26 Republican
31 Democrat
40 Independent
1 Other (VOL)
2 Refused/not sure

I believe the numbers. I’ve never seen the media and the elites work harder to smear someone.

So, you believe a poll that has poll numbers for the following question?:

Do you approve or disapprove of the job Barack Obama is doing as president?
(Follow with:) Do you approve or disapprove of the job he is doing: (Rotate all but first.)

Approve Disapprove Not Sure
As president 47 48 5

Or do you believe a poll that has the numbers listed for the following question?:

I’m going to mention some things that have been talked about as legislative goals for the next two years. For each, please tell me if you favor or oppose. (Read list. Rotate.)

Pass a comprehensive immigration law

Approve Disapprove Not Sure
As president 74 20 6

You really believe the realiability of a poll with these numbers when the same questions asked during McCain's attempt to pass Immigration Reform were the exact opposite?

If you do, you're not thinking with the brains God gave you.

I’m I don’t think so:

Do you consider yourself a supporter of the Tea Party Movement? (If yes, ask:) Do you consider
yourself a strong supporter, or just a supporter?
8 Yes, strong supporter
20 Yes, just a supporter
62 No, not a supporter
10 Not sure

Which do you think is better for the American people: for the Republicans and Democrats in Congress to
each stick to their principles even if it means gridlock and nothing gets done, or do you want the parties
to work together even if it means compromising some principles?
10 Stick to principles even if it means gridlock
87 Work together even if it means compromising some principles
3 Not sure

looks like the poll is loaded with dems and dem leaning indpendents....

In politics as of today, do you consider yourself a Republican, Democrat, or independent?
