Troops who can't accept the idea of overturning the ban on gays in the military should consider leaving the service, says a senior aide to Gen. David Petraeus.
Command Sergeant Major Marvin Hill tells TV One's "Washington Watch" that he believes "the troops are ready" for the repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.
"If there are people who cannot deal with the change, then they're going to have to do what's best for their troops and best for the organization and best for the military service and exit the military service, so that we can move forward -- if that's the way that we have to go," Hill says in an interview with Roland Martin, scheduled to air Sunday.
Hill says it will be up to military brass to "set the tone" for the rank-and-file in accepting gay service members.
"We know that if there is a change, that that change will have to be led, and it's going to have to be led by senior leaders such as myself and -- and others across the battlefield," Hill says.

You are wrong!
115,000 repsondents, the majority of the survey went to Navy and AF, Army and Marines had the lowest survey ballots.
63% do not live on base.
9% Combat experienced troops responded. The survey only went out to installations in the US, Japan and Germany.
Of the so called 70% that approved, only 9% answered a definitive positive and 15% answered a definitive negative, all other answers, were neutral, no answer given.....they took those and added them to the positive.
However, when you dig deeper into the results, it turns out over 60% would ask for a room assignment change if they had to share with an open homosexual and they would alter their showers and other personal time to avoid them. These answers are very telling as they seem to make up for the 60%+ who did not directly answer the question.
That @ hole would not be a pimple on the @$$ of a real CSM or SGM.
I questioned it when I first read it because it just didn’t make sense to me. Then as I saw how hard his administration has been pushing too gain benefits for the queers, it slowly sank in. Yeah, the dude probably has the wife and kids for show but prefers boys to relax with.
There’s nothing in his history about old girlfriends that I could find.
Just posted what was said about the Joint Chiefs. Marines Commandant was the only one who said no.
That’s what was reported a week or so back.
If I’m wrong...well good!
This was nothing but an affirmative action promotion. I have a lot of black SGM and CSM friends that would never say anything this stupid. This idiot really pisses me off to no end. I could say something like I read on the DUmmie FUnnies regarding this character.
Even with “stop loss” engaged? They are wearing our troops out. They have been in theater in Iraq longer than they guys were in WWII Germany. It is time to let the people in the ME sink or swim in their own cess pool.
I have a link to the actual report. The answers do not match up with the 70%. Also, when the Joint Chiefs testified, Marines, AF and even Army (which surprised me because I can’t stand Casey) said no, not during a time of war, only the Navy Chief said he saw no issues.
Question though? If it is repealed, does it go back to the law BEFORE 1993 or does a new amendment have to be written?
RE: I HATE what these bastards are doing to my country
OIF Vet
We already have enough of them now. Many are in the officer and enlisted personnel records sections. Can you say personal data (SSN, home address, job address, phone numbers, email addresses) is in jeproady?
With the plans the Feds are developing for matial law here, I HOPE all the real men will quit, leaving a military of gays and women to contend with. True warriors and patriots need to get out now.
From a Retired SNCO, its about time for you to hang it up.
I remember when SGMs and CSMs were considered to be Gods of the enlisted ranks. You had better be at attention when addressing an E-9. I've been one for over 19 years, and get a lot of respect for not bending to the current policies of the DOD.
The Sergeant Major has his head up his ass!
The CSM is not advocating repeal of DADT. He is suggesting that the Army will carry on regardless of the misguided efforts of our worthless congress critters and Obummer.
One day it dawned on me that Mr. niteowl77 Jr. now had more overseas service bars than any two of my numerous relatives who were in WWII or Korea; it didn't seem possible, but there it was.
Mr. niteowl77
Amen to that, Sergeant Major and thanks for your service!
Which one is which?
OK, give them the choice, then. Watch the place empty out.
The Big Mouth is the gay-muscle on the left.
How cute - Drewly supporting perverts in the military in a tacit, under the radar kind of way.

Don't think they're going to repeal it. Although when 0bastard is out of the White House, I hope it's repealed, and back to "no homosexuals at all, open, closed, shuttered, hidden, nothing!"
