From a Retired SNCO, its about time for you to hang it up.
I remember when SGMs and CSMs were considered to be Gods of the enlisted ranks. You had better be at attention when addressing an E-9. I've been one for over 19 years, and get a lot of respect for not bending to the current policies of the DOD.
“You had better be at attention when addressing an E-9.”
Since the military went PC a few decades ago there is little to respect of a person that had to play politics versus playing soldier and earning respect to gain such rank.
“It’s who you know and who you blow.”
Really? When was this change implemented?
I spent 20 years (3 of them as a Drill Sergeant) teaching Soldiers to stand at attention when addressing officers, and to assume the position of parade rest when addressing NCO's... even CSM's.
