There’s a post over at the DUmp regarding how they should go on conservative sites and use this “meme” to sh*t-stir and sow division.

What did he say? I wasn’t where I could watch it. What borderline anti-white bigotry thing did he say?

I wish I could find a video clip of a little kid all ticked off, you know the exaggerated way they stomp their foot?
He appeared mentally unstable and pizzed to boot, usually a dangerous combination.
Couple that with remarks like Repubs holding us hostage and something about not wanting the government to collapse, a little unnerving to the market.

The only positive is that Obama made an absolute fool of himself today. He looked even more petty and thin-skinned than usual.

I know, where did that come from?

I’ve heard the employer still pays the “match” but the employee gets the 2% break.
Does anyone know what a self-employed person gets?

Why have Republicans went along with the 2% Social Security withholding exemption? It doesn’t make sense while the the inflows are eqauling the outflows, and IOU’s can’t be paid.

If the Republicans were smart, when the time comes close for the 2% discount to expire, they should propose that the 2% should go to Individual Investment Accounts and not to the Government "Lock Box".

Mr Rocket....damn...that’s a great idea!

As to the question of the commenter to which you replied, said commenter lamenting that the GOP agreed to the 2% reduction in Social Security...couple of things:

First, comes the time to retire, monthly SS pmts are compute on the amount of money you’ve contributed through the years, plus employer matches. We all get these statements once a year, even now, right? So the working folk who now contribute LESS, 2% less for a year as of now, will have the reduction, logically, NOT included in their total SS contributions and following through, NOT included in calculation of their monthly SS pmt upon disability/retirement.

concluding that the cost of this reduction is coming from...TADA...their own retirement incomes.

Although, heh, we all know there’s no lockbox into which this money is deposited and left to collect interest and be safe. So this reduction affects tax revenues coming in, let’s not kid ourselves.

BUT...I still think the reduction of 2% is a good thing, and now I include YOUR suggestion that when it is resumed this would be a great time to resume the deduction as a deposit into a private account and who knows, maybe it’s part of the plan. Cause I did payroll all my life and I shudder to think of having to REDEDUCT this money from folks’ paychecks once they got used to it NOT being taken. for many people I paid through the years, this is ALL the taxes they ever paid...claiming 99 exempts for Fed and state but FICA was forever.

Still, as I argue, Obamer’s got all kind of money he gives back to people through a “negative” income tax...folks who DON’T pay taxes but through this nutty scheme they get money “funds for working” or some such. Retired people aren’t getting a COLA raise in SS next year but are going to get a $250 check like last year, as I understand it. The millionaire Dry Cleaners and Barbers across the fruited plains will now be spared being taxed more money with the Bush tax cuts in place, as the Democrats would tell you.

SO THIS LITTLE 2% THING IS THE ONLY MONEY THE POOR WORKING SCHLUB WHO PAYS TAXES IS GETTING BACK SO GOD BLESS!

If the GOP uses the re-implementation of this money as a way to phase into a private retirement account, as you suggest, all the better.

Finally, don’t forget, the EMPLOYER of these people too gets a reduction in the match of SS taxes. Although I’m not sure of this, normal payroll has the employer noting how much money WITHHELD from the paychecks for FICA and doubling it as a match. Unless they’re going to change all this, which would be an accounting nightmare, this little 2% does help the employers as well.

So don’t think this is not a victory/good thing on the part of the GOP. I think they very much wanted this and it was a way to make even DEMOCRAT voters happy...dag, all those union guys, even THEY pay FICA taxes.

I didn't get to see it, but it sounds like it was the boy king's head that exploded. Over at Commentary magazine online, John Podhoretz was live blogging the press conference and called it “one of the strangest political events of my lifetime.”

http://www.commentarymagazine.com/blogs/index.php/jpodhoretz/383593

Sounds like the narcissist in chief had a meltdown on camera today. Since the man lacks anything resembling strength of character, things will only get worse, as his predicament becomes more stark.

GOP compromised on the unfunded extension of unemployment and the reduced payroll taxes. Frankly, we can’t afford the reduction in payroll taxes until SS is fixed, somehow. My guess is that Obama wants to bring SS to a crisis point and then blame Republicans for raising the retirement age.

He claimed the Republicans are "against tax cuts for the middle class."
What a lying sack.

You're exactly right. All of the pubbies in the House voted for Pelosi sham resolution for continuing the tax cuts only for the middle class. It was the dems in the Senate that helped get it defeated in that house.

So, as you say "What a lying sack" (of sh*t)!

He did get one thing we shouldn’t have agreed to: part of this “deal” is that the Republicans will agree to a continuing resolution to fund the government until September 30, 2011. That means the funding for ObamaCare will be included. But maybe Boehner has a plan to exclude it later on. Yea...right.

Makes the entire deal a loser for pubbies. I'll bet he got the ability to shift funds at will as well. Looks like the pubbies couldn't even wait a month to throw the country under the bus.

Remember folks, vote Republican 'cause they're Different!

Do Democrats have any economic ideas that actually spur economic growth? Or do they just count on the Bush tax cuts?

Yes. They have actually embraced "trickle down"-long thought to be Republican "voodoo", in the stimulus bill. But only when monies extracted from the private sector are re-injected there through government entities, never when allowed to remain there to begin with.

"You private sector people, you'll get yours when we spend it. If we spend it. Now that we think about it, since it's temporary, we'd be idiots if we spent it."

Geeze, Obama looks a little strained.

I thought so too. He probably entered through the screen door.
