Wikileaks: Top Chinese official doesn't believe GDP figures
Telegraph ^ | 12/6/2010 | Malcolm Moore

China's economic figures are unreliable and not to be trusted, according to Li Keqiang, one of the country's most senior officials.

The 55-year-old is widely tipped to become China's next prime minister and is currently the country's executive vice premier, with responsibility for macro-economic management.

However, in private talks with the US ambassador in 2007, when he was still just the head of the Chinese province of Liaoning, Mr Li cast doubt on China's much-vaunted economic statistics.

A diplomatic cable leaked by Wikileaks, the whistle-blowing website, reveals that Mr Li described China's gross domestic product figure as "man-made" and "therefore unreliable".

I didn’t need Wikileaks to know that.

Fudging the numbers? They must have learned that technique from the US.

“We can always fool the foreigner.”- Chinese proverb.

As for Mr. Assange, it appears he collects state enemies the way some kids collected stamps or baseball cards.

Me either, but there are those who won’t believe it if it is triple-sourced.

Climate models, GDP models, and unemployment measures are all more reliable than global population counts and any federal bureaucracy’s or agency’s books.

Li Keqiang is a top-5 leader in China. His faction and supporters must be working 24/7 behind the scenes now to protect his @ss, because he committed the gravest sin one can commit - he publicly embarrassed the Party.

Probably is. So far, the only one who has been able to embarrass all of the major enemies and threats to the USA: The Clintons, Saudi Arabia, Communist China, etc...

But, I bet the Free Trade Globalists who support Free Trade with Communist China probably have taken over now the “most likely to off Julian Assange” sweepestakes.

Seems the biggest critics of Assange are now limited to Economic Anti-Americans and Globalists

Chinese communist government has been famous for painting peace and "gold" on everything. China is still a third world country. If you just actually visit China and stay there for a while, you will know China is never the same as its government will tell you. Everything is censored and media is controlled by its central government.

“Top Chinese official doesn’t believe GDP figures,” because to agree with them would be to work against his abominable trade imbalance. Poor China girl. She so poor. Give her the tiny remainder of our manufacturing facilities, because we Americans are so relatively lazy, stupid and worthless.

Our Nation needs this good housecleaning.

Globalism is falling under its own rottenness, BTW. Cheers to the depression brought by political correctness! We’ll finally see appropriately small government and the end of the din of bureaucratic hens.
