The House on Thursday formally censured Rep. Charlie Rangel for financial misconduct despite pleas from the New York Democratic lawmaker and some of his colleagues for a less punishing reprimand.
The House voted to censure Rangel 333-79.
Rangel, who became the 23rd House member to be censured, appeared at the front of the chamber while Speaker Nancy Pelosi read the resolution.

Maxines ethics hearing has been indefinitely postponed. ( IMHO she has consented now to let Obama radical community workers do their dirty work in Watts, to set up disorder and mayhem race riots when Obama loses in 2012, or in the run up to 2012). The deal has been cut.Part of that was to allow Pelosi to continue as minority whip.Maxine is the deputy whip.
I dunno. Censure-ship is un-American. ,p>
:-)
There cannot be a different standard for MINORITIES than non-minorities.
This is simply “affirmative action” for crimes as opposed to employment. First the bar is lowered for “minorities” in academia and in the employment world.
Then non-minorities are automatically held to a “higher standard.” The bar is lowered in criminal cases and the book is thrown at non-minorities for the same crime.
The same is true for qualifying to get any type of gov’t assistance. There’s an unspoken “lower standard” that needs to be met by minorities to get on such programs. A non-minority with the same household size, same income level, same family situation will NOT get on such programs as easily as a minority family will; saw it happening ALL the time when I worked for subsidized housing.
That's race relations progress.
So now it is time for the CRIMINAL charges to be prosecuted, right? Right?
Strip his pension. Kick him out the door.
This is just another slap in the faces of all of us who try to do right.
Obviously, there's one law for us, another law for them.
The sad thing is how few people notice.
Naughty, naughty Charlie!
“Now I dont feel like I should have to pay MY taxes.”
If WE don’t, WE’LL end up in a prison cell with a 300 lb guy named Bubba.
NEXT!
Birds of a feather...
This goes to prove that congress is not part of the “little people” .. if anyone of us failed to pay taxes where would we be?
Right next to wesley snipes by now that is where.
I'll second that! One of a kind, for sure.
I have two Zoot Suits because of Cab! The hippest men’s clothing ever!
LOL. It takes a certain [something] to make those work.
I saw CC in concert the year before he died. He still had it.
I have a banana yellow suit, and a silver Lamé suit. Reet pleats, and pegged to the max. Four foot chains, and skinny, skinny belts. The Lamé suit probably wouldn’t make it through the airport radiation machine!
And “Censure” means exactly what?
A statement of “Tsk, tsk, you naughty boy”?
Jail time of what?
Fines of what?
Actual teeth?
Rangel gets fired from Congress?
Anything meaningful, such as would have happened to ordinary serfs?
His trial?
After the investigation of Obaba’s legality to be President.
And after Pelosi’s firing for incompetence for her statement: “we have to pass the bill to find out what is in it.”
After Obaba’s Treasury Secretary is prosecuted for tax cheating.
After Obaba’s Surgeon General is sent to a fat farm.
After pigs fly.
