I grew up on a farm. Pets were expendable, no vet bills for them. Livestock took priority.
My vet bills would probably shock most “farmers”, but I view all living creatures as sacred. I’m not opposed to hunting, I eat meat, wear leather, etc.; however, I do not unnecessarily kill anything. We have no kill mouse traps, and I catch the spiders and take them outside. But, I do not expect everyone or anyone else (except those in my household), to live their lives by my standards.
