Hannekah is the first week in December this year.....no reason after that to say anything but Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas to all!
Not really. Since I was a kid people have said Happy Holidays versus Merry Christmas. Between Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and another religious holidays like Hanukkah, it makes perfect sense to use Happy Holidays.
Offended? Hardly, but for the purposes of their dumb poll...sure.
I do the same. When they say “happy holidays”, I say same to you. Then I add, and “Merry Christmas”. “Have a blessed day/night”.
But when do you say Happy New Year?
The Sun Sentinal needs a clue. For my Floridian frinds to subscribe to the rag...let them know if they continue bashing Christianity - they can kiss their subscription goodbye.
America is not culturally homogeneous, and that is as it should be.
Diversity MEANS: Your culture is OK and SO IS MINE!!! In this country, nothing and no o ne may interfere with YOUR or MY cultural expression until OR unless one of us breaks the law. Period.
We can work and live together easily and successfully just as we have been doing since the beginning of the United States of America.
This infantile and deliberately over sensitization to cultural differences is/has been hyped by the Left and it is extremely and obviously artificial.
America needs to remember, or be regularly reminded, that we fought a Revolutionary War, Civil War and two World Wars as ONE nation and did so efficiently and successfully.
If America is socially imperfect, it is STILL better than ANY WHERE ELSE on earth. We are VOLUNTARILY perfecting and will continue to perfect our country! It is deceitful and immoral for the MSM and the Liberals to perpetually bang on as if wholesale; stone-age racial inequities exist and are encouraged in America.
Absolutely I am completely offended.
I don’t buy Christmas cards that say Happy Holidays and by God, I will be more than happy to tell any stores I shop in that most of their money is made from Christians celebrating Christmas and if they don’t want my money, so be it.
Its Christmas, damnit!!

Well,,, “Happy Holidays” is something I’ve heard all my life, and I’m 64. It used to refer to Christmas and New Years as being the “Holidays.” The “Holiday Season” included them both. You wished a person “Happy Holidays,” Then on Christmas day, you wished them “A Merry Christmas,” and a New Year’s Day, you wished them “A Happy New Year.” “Happy Holidays is an inclusive wish for both holidays. I’m not offended by it.
“But when do you say Happy New Year?”
I say Happy New Year to Christians on Jan 1 and ‘Shana Tova’ to Jews on Rosh Hashana.

AND THE GRINCH’S POOR LIFE WAS COMPARATIVELY CRAPPY.
THE GRINCH WAS AN ATHIEST, GAY, AND A COMMIE
(SOMETHING HE’D LEARNED FROM HIS DAD AND HIS MOMMIE).
HE DIDN’T MIND WINTER SOLSTICE OR KWANZAA
BUT THE “CHRIST” NAME IN CHRISTMAS DROVE THAT GRUMPY GRINCH GONZA.
BECAUSE JESUS TAUGHT LOVE, GOODNESS, MORALS, AND SUCH
THINGS THAT THE GRINCH DIDN’T PRACTICE THAT MUCH.

ALL THE WINDOWS WERE DARK, QUIET SNOW FILLED THE AIR

WHEN HE CAME TO THE BRIGHT LIGHTS RIGHT THERE ON THE SQUARE.
THE GRINCH SAID, “THIS BANNER SIMPLY MUST GO
IT SAYS ‘MERRY CHRISTMAS’ IT CLEARLY SAYS SO.
I DON’T BELIEVE IN THIS JESUS CHRIST FELLOW.”
THEN THE ACLU GUYS ALL STARTED TO BELLOW,
“THIS BANNER’S ILLEGAL, INTOLERANT, INTRUSIVE.
THE WHOS MUST REPLACE IT WITH SOMETHING INCLUSIVE.”
SO THE BANNER CAME DOWN AND THE WHOS HAD SOME MEETINGS
AND PUT UP A NEW ONE THAT SAID “SEASONS GREETINGS.”
WITH THE BANNER NOW HISTORY, THE GRINCH STARTED ON
THE SWEET MANGER SCENE ON THE CITY HALL LAWN.
THE ACLU GUYS SAID, “THIS TOO MUST GO.
PUT A KWANZAA DISPLAY UP RIGHT THERE IN THE SNOW!”
MIKE NEWDOW THEN SAID,”WE’VE GOT THESE WHOS OVER BARRELS,
SO IN ALL THE WHOS SCHOOLS WE’LL ELIMINATE CAROLS!
AND WHILE ALL THIS WAS HAPPENING WHAT DID THE WHOS DO?
WHY THEY DID NOTHING BUT CRY BOO-HOO-HOO
WE DON’T HAVE THE MONEY. WE DON’T HAVE THE TIME.
THE COURTS ARE AGAINST US. IT’S SUCH A TOUGH CLIMB.
I GUESS WE’LL JUST LUMP IT. THIS MUST BE OUR FATE.
AND THEY CRIED AND THEY WHINED UNTIL ALL WAS TOO LATE.
THEN THE GRINCH AND THE LAWYERS RAN RAMPANT THROUGH TOWN.
TEARING EVERY REFERENCE TO JESUS CHRIST DOWN.

NOW ITS MANY YEARS LATER AND CHRIST IS ALL GONE
AND THE WHOS ARE ALL WONDERING WHERE DID WE GO WRONG.
OH, SURE, SANTA’S STILL THERE WITH HIS REINDEER AND ELVES
BUT AS THE WHOS SNOOZED THEY LOST PART OF THEMSELVES.
WITH CHRIST GONE FROM CHRISTMAS THE SPIRIT LEFT, TOO
AND LEFT A BIG, GAPING HOLE IN EACH SOUL IN EACH WHO.
AND WHAT OF THE GRINCH, NO, HE, STILL IS UNHAPPY
BUT IT MAKES HIM FEEL BETTER NOW THAT EVERYONE’S CRAPPY.
SO, NOW CHRISTMAS TIME’S JUST A MEM’RY FOR WHOS
WHO LET IT ALL GO TO THE ACLU’S.

When I see CE and BCE, I think Christian Era and Before Christian Era.
At least “Happy Holidays” is one step above “Seasons Greetings” in that it can still annoy the atheists.
Again? Really?
Holidays is a variant of “Holy Days”. X-mas is how it was written for over a thousand years. The X is the Cross He died on. I like to hear “Merry Christmas”, but seeing “X-mas” or hearing “Happy Holidays” does not upset me. Many religions celebrate their holy days at this time of year and, while I do not agree with them, what is wrong with those who do not know of their beliefs in wishing them happiness and peace. I say “Merry Christmas”, but cannot fault others for saying “Happy Holidays”.
“Even small towns here in rural Georgia put up banners that say
“Season’s Greetings”
Which is by far, THE most sterile, generic, nonsensical, idiotic clause in the holiday repertoire of heartfelt wishes.”
At least the word ‘holiday’ implies something holy about the day.
