After WikiLeaks' unauthorized release of a quarter of a million State Department documents Sunday, Rep. Peter King (R-Seaford) called for the Swedish website to be designated a "foreign terrorist organization" and its founder Julian Assange to be charged as a spy.

"WikiLeaks presents a clear and present danger to the national security of the United States," he wrote Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

"I strongly urge you to work within the administration to use every offensive capability of the U.S. government to prevent further damaging releases by WikiLeaks," said King in the letter he made public Sunday.

How can he stop a server from another country?

A server is useless unless there is a living, breathing person loading data onto it.

People are going to catch hell all over the globe. Some of them may die as a result; others may have to uproot and change their careers completely. It could help start a war even...somewhere.

“It could help start a war even...somewhere.”

Yes, which is perhaps the intent.

Give me your best estimate of age on FR 2008 and below. Give me your best estimate of military on FR 2008 and below. Now cuss me out for asking for such a ridiculous measure. I then ask how you communicate that silliness when the SHTF. :^|

The fact that King wants WikiLeaks as a Terrorist Organization shows you how pathetic he is and we are as a country.

We already have laws for this, no need to use the WOT for every dam situation that comes up.

“What about all of the federal IT and security idiots that let this 22 year old gay in the military PFC gain access to this info, and let him copy it without it being detected?
Or are they going to get away scott free?”

Yes.

No one in “security” was held responsible for letting the 9-11 hijackers into the country. Into programs designed to fly but not land planes. Into aircraft on the morning on 9-11 despite the fact that their profiles threw up huge red flags. Ft. Hood shooter? Same.
